Light from its load the spirit flies,

"How blest the righteous when he dies."

Soul and body part like friends - -
No quarrels, no murmurs, no delay
A kiss, a sigh and so away.

The welfare of his country, his family and friends, were his constant thot and his efforts and energy were expended in doing for them.
He was a kindly christian gentleman. He has long been a member of some church and a faithful follower of the Nazarene. Since 1912 he has been an active member of the Evangelical church in Guide Rock, but during his last years he was not permitted, because of ill health, to attend church services.
Besides his wife and children there is left to mourn his death, 21 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Not only his family, but the entire community feels keenly the loss of a good citizen, a loving husband and kind father.
Grandpa Schultz has gone to rest
To that Heavenly Home so blest,
Tho we grieve to see him go
    Perhaps it is better so.
    After many months of pain
    He's at rest once again.
God saw fit to take him away,
How we'll miss him, none can say.
