Miriam A. Books, 89, Cleona, died Monday, July 25, 2005, in the United Christian Church Home, North Annville Township. She was the wife the late Paul Kramer, who died in 1981, and the late Theodore B. Books, who died in 2004. Born in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sally Schaeffer Mengel. She was retired from the fitting room of Steffy Shoe Co., Lebanon. She was a member of Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, Cleona. Surviving are daughter Arlene, wife of William Hess of Littlestown; brothers Marvin Mengel of Allentown and Guy Mengel of Schuylkill Haven; sister Bernice, wife of Lewis Troy of Schuylkill Haven; six grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Earl C. Kramer, stepson Theodore Books Jr., brothers Wilbert, George and Paul Mengel and sister Ruth Oxenrider. Service Thursday in Kreamer Funeral Home, Annville. Interment in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Lebanon Daily News
