Walter Leroy Viands, 85, of Luray, died on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Reston Hospital Center.
He was born on April 26, 1922, in Luray and was a son of the late Walter Lee and Elsie Mauck Viands.
Mr. Viands was an Army Veteran of World War II and was a truck driver, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Page United Methodist Church.
On Jan. 18, 1947, he married Lydia Viands, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Leon Viands of Herndon, W. Roy Viands of Keene, N. H. and Donald Viands of Ithaca, N. Y.; five sisters, Nina Saylor, Becky Viands, Shirley Comer, Norma Jean Huffman and Alice Housden, all of Luray; two brothers, Lewis Viands of Vienna and James Viands of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Viands; and a sister, Lucy Keyser.
Burial was in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery, with military honors by the American Legion Post 22.

Walter heiratete Zeh, Lydia am 18 Jan 1947. Lydia (Tochter von Zeh, Johann und Brandner, Magdalena) wurde geboren am 14 Jun 1921 in Elgin, Grant County, North Dakota, USA; gestorben am 30 Sep 2002 in , Page County, Virginia, USA; wurde beigesetzt in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery, Luray, Page County, Virginia, USA.
