Michael and Anna Margaret were married in Kamenka, Russia.
They emigrated to the U.S. in 1877, aboard the SS Herder traveling from Hamburg to New York.
Including their own family, there were 33 Urbans aboard, 13 of whom were over 18. The oldest couple was 56 years old at the time, and the youngest couple was 23. Michael and Anna Margaret were 48 and 46.
It is difficult to sort out relationships from the list of travelers, but they were listed with the following children: Jacob, Johann, Adam, Joseph, Michael, and Anna. Jacob' wife, Katharina, and their baby daughter were also on board.
They arrived in Pfeifer, Kansas on November 12, 1877.
Michael Urban, born in 1829, died in 1883. Anna Margaret Roth Urban, born in 1830, died in 1896.
