Richard E. Reutzel, age 66 passed on to pheasant heaven on May 1, 2013 at his home in Ovid, Colorado. Born in Grant, Nebraska on Aug 3, 1946 he was the son of Roy W. and Doris P. Reutzel. Richard attended the Madrid and Grant schools and worked hard to receive his GED later in life as well as graduating with an Associate's Degree from Northeastern Junior College shortly thereafter. He served in the US Army and worked for Sara Lee for 30 years. Richard married Peggy Ziegler on April 7, 1968 and they shared a daughter.
His many hobbies included watching his grandchildren's activities, hunting, fishing, going to auctions, and yard sales, as well as stock car racing, driving his own car for several years. Richard was also active in the Ovid Lion's Club for many years and served as the Treasurer on the Ovid Fire Departments Rural Board.
Survivors include Peggy Reutzel, a daughter and son-in-law Richelle & Andy Schneider of Ovid, two grandchildren Brooke and Hunter. His Mother Doris Edwards of Ogallala, Father-in-Law Lee and Sylvia Palmer of Renton, Washington sister-in-law Bonnie Lyons of Tukwilla, Washington. He is also survived by his sisters Bess & Bill England and Nila Irwin of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bonnie & Eldon Kokes of Grand Island, Nebraska, Bill & Jody Reutzel of Ogallala, Nebraska and Roy & Sue Reutzel of Paxton, NE along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his Grandfather Bill Reutzel, Father Roy W. Reutzel and 3 Step-Fathers as well as a Brother-In-Law Harold Irwin, In-laws Clarence & Marie Ziegler and a niece and nephew. Services will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Austin Tennant Funeral Home in Julesburg, CO with Pastor Art Roth officiating. Burial following the services at the Ovid Cemetery. In lue of flowers Memorials may be made to the Ovid Volunteer Fire Department or the Ovid Lions Club.

Doris P. Edwards age 90 of Ogallala died Sunday, March 29th at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala. Funeral Services will be WednesdayDorris Edwards April 1st at 10:00 am from the Draucker Funeral Home with the Pastor John Howe of the light House Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm central time at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
Doris Pauline Edwards was born to Dowell Henry and Ella Marie (Fister) Tucker on August 28, 1924 at Grant, NE. She received her early education through eighth grade in Haigler, NE and received her GED later in life. She grew to womanhood in the Haigler, Grant, Elsie, Grainton, NE area.
Doris married Roy W. Reutzel November 22, 1942, the marriage produced six children. She married Buster Lovenburg August 9, 1959, Howard Irwin on March 29, 1985 and Charles Edwards October 5, 1991.
Doris was a member of the Assembly of God Church for many years and a member of the Lighthouse
Baptist Church in her later years.
Doris was a stay at home mother when her children were growing up and then was employed by Good-All/TRW Electric for eighteen years and by Ogallala Community Hospital as Housekeeping Supervisor for ten years, retiring in 1987.
Survivors include: Two Sons William J. and wife Jody of Ogallala, NE, Roy Alan and wife Sue of Paxton, NE; Three Daughters Bessie Marie England and Nila Jane Irwin of Lincoln NE, and Bonnie Agnes and husband Eldon Kokes of Grand Island, NE; Step-Sons Floyd and wife Joyce Lovenburg of Creswell, OR, Howard Irwin of Denver, CO, Aaron and wife Janice Irwin of Haigler, NE; Daughters–in-law Peggy Reutzel of Ovid, CO, Rose Lovenburg of Lincoln, NE; Brother John Tucker of Spokane, WA; Four sisters Allie Townsend of Colten, OR, Alice Straub of St Francis, KS, Eunice Tucker of Wilder, ID, Joyce and husband Floyd Lovenburg of Creswell, OR many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Forty-one grandchildren, Seventy-one great-grandchildren, Twenty great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her parents and her four husbands; Roy W. Reutzel, Buster Lovenburg, Howard Irwin and Charles Edwards; Son Richard Elmer Reutzel; Step-Sons Gene, Wayne, Ray and Larry Lovenburg, Harold Irwin; Son-in-law William England; Daughters-in-law Paula Lovenburg, Diana Irwin; Grandsons Douglas Lovenburg and Randy England; Granddaughter Doris Kokes; Brothers Kenneth, Alvie and David Tucker and sisters Esther Mae Tucker, Dorothy Osler, Betty Peters, Naomi DeBoer, Leota Hunt and Rosella Ritchie.
Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge of arrangements.

Dowell Henry Tucker son of Locke and Hattie Tucker, was born May 7, 1892 at Henrietta, Texas, and died Novermber 26, 1951, in the Veterans Hospital, Cheyenne, Wy, having reached the age of 59 years, six months, and 19 days.
He enlisted in the United States Navy December 15, 1917 where he served one year and ten months.
July 6, 1921 he was united in marriage with Ella Fister at Grant, Nebraska. To this union were born four sones and eleven daughters. One daughter Esthe Mae, preceded him in death.
For a period of time they resided in Grant, moving to Lamont, Ne. and later moving to Haigler, Ne.
Mr. Tucker had been in failing health for some time. He passed away November 26, 1951, at the Veteran's Hospital at Cheyenne, WY., having reached the age of 59 years, six months, and 19 days.
On July 4, 1951 after having given a definite testimony of sins forgiven and of peace with God, he was united with the Pilgrim Holiness Church of Haigler of the profession of his faith.
He leaves to morn his passing his wife, Ella; four sons, Kenneth and Alvie of Haig; David, U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor, and John of Fort Morgan; ten daughters, Mrs. Leota Redden of Haigler, Mrs. Dorothy Olsen and Miss Eunice Tucker of Elsie, Ne. Mrs. Allie Teeter and Miss Betty Tucker of Benkelman, Ne. Mrs. Alice Straub and Mrs. Rosella Richey of St. Francis, KS. Miss Naomi Tucker of Wray, CO. Mrs. Doris Reutzal of Madrid, Ne. and Miss Joyce Tucker of Fort Morgan, CO.One brother, Claud of Pomona, CA. three sisters, Mrs. Bruce Thomas of Pomona, CA. Mrs. Virlo Sullivan of Ontario, Ca. and Mrs. Adeline Green of West Fork, AK. 21 grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held November 30, 1951 at 2:00 P.M. from the Haigler Methodist Church with the Rev Edward Friensen offictating. Burial was in Haigler cemetery.
The Haigler American Legion Post Conducted servised at the grave. Flag bearers were Royal Woods iii, and Ercil Coodall. Color Guards were Lester Adams, Francis Neville, Bill Walker, and Earl Erdman. Members of the Firing Squad were: Jack Chambers, Beannie Palmer, Stanley Zuege, Albert Zuege, Herman Zuge, Martin Keller, and Marlin Stute under the Command of Ward Wonder.
Pallbearers were: Reese Simms, Emmons Adams, Pat Smith, Henry Krause, Emil Zuege, and Wade Hoover.
