June D. Gillespie, 91, of Belvidere, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, in Northwoods Care Center after a lingering illness.
She was born June 6, 1916, in Chicago, the daughter of Elmer and Isabelle (MacBoyle) Gartley.
June had been a resident of Belvidere for five years, coming here from Wonder Lake.
She married John M. Gillespie in Oak Park, on July 7, 1950.
June was a member of the Episcopalian faith and former member of Women of the Moose.
She is survived by daughter, Mary (Harold) Parish; son, John (Karen) Schueler; step-sons, John and Harold Gillespie; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two step-sons; and step-daughter.
Service at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., with visitation from 10 a.m. to the time of service; the Rev. Dean Parker, Chaplain of O.S.F. Saint Anthony Medical Center, will officiate. Cremation to take place with burial in Oxley, Ark.
