Gottfried Meier, 86, 815 S. Garfield St., Lodi, died yesterday afternoon in a local rest home following a long illness.
Born in Menno, S.D., he came to the Lockeford area in 1912. Meier operated his own well-drilling company in this area for 3 years before his retirement in 1958.
Surviving are two sons, George of Lodi and Edward of Lockeford; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Hildenbrandt, Mrs. Kathryn Lawrence, both of Sacramento; a step-son, Leonard Fischer, Lodi; a step-daughter, Mrs. Victoria Denney, Stockton; a brother, Julius Meier, Lodi; a sister, Mrs. Christina Gutsche, Lodi; two step-brothers, Jake Fetzer and William Fetzer, both of Stockton, ten grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Entombment in East Pine Mausoleum.

Gottfried heiratete Wacker, Anna F. geschätzt 1947. Anna (Tochter von Wacker, Jacob Konrad und Schell, Johanna) wurde geboren am 13 Mai 1902 in Freudental, Gebiet Großliebental, Region Odessa, Rußland; gestorben am 6 Dez 1971 in Lodi, San Joaquin County, California, USA; wurde beigesetzt in Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, San Joaquin County, California, USA.
