Frieda Clara Zimbelman, 94, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
She was born Oct. 5, 1907, in Murphysboro to Adolph and Emma (Heumann) Wohlwend. She married Clarence Zimbelman on Feb. 3, 1940, in Jackson, Mo. He died Feb. 9, 1971.
Mrs. Zimbelman had worked at Martin Bakery.
She was a life member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, American Legion Post 127 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7190 Auxiliary, and a member of the Jackson County Nursing Home Auxiliary and Murphysboro Senior Citizens.
Survivors include one sister, Alma Raines of Murphysboro; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her parents, four brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Frieda heiratete Zimbelman, Clarence Sylvester am 3 Feb 1940 in , Jackson County, Illinois, USA.
