    BURIAL: Michael is buried with his second wife Susannah in Bunker Hill Cemetery which is located Worthington Township, Richland County, in Ohio. Michael was 91 at the time of his death.
    MILITARY: Michael served in the 3rd Company 1st regiment militia
    of Franklin County Pennsylvania as a lieutenant about 1793.
    IMMIGRATION: Michael immigrated to the U. S. sometime between 1783 and 1793.
    BURIAL: Buried in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
    NOTE: The original name may possibly have been Grumbach as there is a
    Grumbach River that runs through Germany in the area that used to be Prussia. Wurtenburg, Baden, Germany.
    NOTE: The name Grubaugh means craggy place.
    NOTE: A grandaughter of Michaels wrote a 3 paragraph page about her
    family. In it she said that her grandmother's name was Peggy. However she was quite elderly and her grandmother on the other side of the family was named Margaret and Peggy is a nickname for Margaret. There may never have been a Peggy that was married to Michael.

    Johann Jacob Grumbach and his wife Catherine are reportedly buried in Toboyne Township, Perry County, PA (see below). There is no independent verification that their burials actually occurred in Eby Cemetery, but it is the only cemetery listed in Toboyne township.
    Johann Jacob Grumbach was the son of Barthel Grumbach and Anna Maria Haenich. He was the father of at least 8 children, all born in the America. The sons, either by design or by evolution developed different surnames - Michael being Michael Grubaugh, George and Jacob becoming Crobaugh, John and Frederick becoming Crubaugh and Mary and Nicholas becoming Crumbaugh. All Grubaughs, Crobaughs and Crubaughs can be linked back to these siblings. The Crumbaugh surname was also used by several relatives of Johann Jacob, and is not unique.
    The sons settled in different regions of the country. Michael settling in central Ohio (Richland County), the two Crobaughs settling in upstate New York (Seneca County), Frederick Crubaugh settling in eastern Ohio (Columbiana County) and John Crubaugh settling in western Ohio (Butler and Preble County).

    Jon. Jacob Grumbach., a son of Barthel and Anna Maria Haenich Grumbach, was christened on February 2, 1731, at The Evangelisch Church at Pfalz, Ernstweiler, Germany.
    On April 18, 1749, Jakob Krumbach of Duttweiler obtained manumission (release from serfdom).
    During the year of 1749, Jacob Grumbach immigrated to America, aboard the ship
    "Dragon" and arrived in Philadelphia in the month of September.
    Catherine is the given name of Jacob's last wife. She also may have been his only wife.
    In January 15, 1768, Jacob Crumbaugh purchased land in Frederick County, Maryland, from Andrew Stiger. The amount paid was 108 1bs.
    During the year of 1786, JACOB CROUBAUGH made application for land in Franklin County, PA.
    In 1790, Cumberland Co. Pa. Toboyne Twp., TAX LIST, JACOB GRUBACH had 50 acres, a 16'x18' cabin, and one old barn, which ere valued at $50.00.
