Mrs. J. O. Rawlings Dies in Central City -
Anna Pearl Curtis was born at Palmer, October 7, 1882 to Lyman and Ida Scarborough Curtis. In 1901 she moved with her parents to Wheatland, Wyoming.
She was married to John Rawlings at Wheatland on May 28, 1902 and in 1907 they came to the Archer community where they have since lived on a farm, except for a few years in Central City.
Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Lillie Stander of Archer, Leonard of Wallingford, Iowa; Cecil and Mrs. Nita Watkins of Central City; Mrs. Pauline Mapes of Wickenburg, Arizona; Mrs. Opal Neel of Bancroft; Mrs. Gertrude Williams of North Platte and Mrs. Bethel Held of Cozad, one brother, Merle of Denver; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Reed of Wheatland, Mrs. Grace Trevi??? [part of line illegible] of Pueblo and Zela S??ner, Phoenix; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Emerancy M. Caldwell was born October 28, 1825, in Onandaga County, New York. She moved with her parents to Porter County, Indiana at the age of 12. She was united in marriage to James M. Curtis November 24, 1842. To this union eight children were born, four of whom, Mrs. W. F. Campbell, Mrs. Z. E. Peck, both of Palmer, L. K. Curtis of Wheatland, Wyoming, and Chas. Curtis of Callaway, Nebraska, survive her.
She moved with her two sons to Merrick County, Nebraska in October 1878, where she lived until August 1904, when she with her son Chas moved to Callaway, Nebraska, where she lived at the time of her death, July 27,1915 at the age of 89 years and nine months.
She was converted at the age of 16, and united with the Methodist Episcopal church, of which organization she was a consistent member for over seventy years.
As the death dew gathered upon her brow her children were at her bedside to see that everything possible was done for her comfort. Through the rest of their lives the memory of her unselfish devotion will make them better men and women, and her precepts be their guiding star.
The funeral was held from the Christian Church in Palmer on Friday July 30, Reverend Bishop officiating.

Thos. Scarborough Sen. departed his life Jan. 31, 1881. He was born Nov. 10th, 1810 at Wranby, Lincolnshire, England.
In August 1831, he married Caroline Wattam, and immediately emigrated to this country, settling in LaPorte county, Indiana, in September of the same year.
In June 1879 he removed to Merrick county, this state, where he resided until his death. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn the loss of husband and father. Three of his children preceded him to the land unknown to the living.

Died at her home in Gage Valley last Tuesday, March 10th, Mrs. Walter Reynolds. She was born at Kirton Lincolnshire England June 11, 1829. She emigrated to America in 1851, and joined the pioneer settlers in the western part of Merrick Co., Nebr in 1878.
1st husband - Thomas Scarborough, married at Kirton-In-Lindsey, Lincoln, England on May 6, 1851.
2nd husband - Walter L. Reynolds, born Feb 1855 in Indiana, married August 2, 1888 in Hall County, Nebraska. Per their marriage record, her father was John Wattam, her mother was Hannah Barter.
Mrs. Reynolds is the mother of eleven children. Four sons and seven daughters. Eight of her children and her husband still survive her. They have the sympathy of the entire community.
