Note:
The Karl Stumpp book has these Kleins as having originated in URBACH< SAARGMUND, however THAT IS AN ERROR. They originted in BURBACH, ELSASS. Research by James Klein of Washington who traveled to Urbach to try and find family records (he found none) shows that Urbach was a Catholic community and our Kleins were Lutheran. Also, Burbach is traceable as the origin of our Kleins through Klein family records in Glueckstal which state that they were born in Tscherwenka,
Ungarn (Hungary). The early family genealogies listed on page 73 of "Unser Tscherwenka" by Roland Vetter shows the previous generations of Kleins as coming from BURBACH, ELSASS.
Nikolaus Klein married Elizabeth Aman about 1788, they moved from Glueckstal to Peterstal on 3/13/1826

DEATH
The death record for Conrad Pfaff states that he had been a pigherder in Imsbach for 15 years, had been married for 29 years and 4 days, that he had eleven children (four sons and seven daughters) and that two of his daughters had preceded him in death.
CHILDREN
Birth records could only be found for one son and four daughters. Confirmation and marriage records helped to fill in other names. While some of those records did not give the father's name, there appeared to be no other Pfaff families in Imsbach at the time, so it has been assumed that they were all Conrad's children. Since there is a gap in recorded births between 1733-1747, it seems logical to assume that the family may have lived elsewhere during those years. Records for both Conrad's children and his son Johann Philipp's give reference to family that live in Falkenstein, a village not far from Imsbach. It is possible that is where they lived or were from, however no records are available for Falkenstein for the years before 1818.
IMSBACH RECORDS
Records for Imsbach do not begin until 1724, so no further research is possible at this time.
