The following text appears in the Bowdle Centennial book and conflicts with the St. Petersburg records and the 1900 Walworth Co. census: "Christian Wolff was born Aug. 11, 1850 and his wife Magdalena Frey was born Jan. 27, 1854. They were married in the 1870's and came to South Dakota in 1888 with their four children who were born in Marionsburg, Russia. Christian was born Oct. 21, 1873, Johnathan Oct. 29, 1874, Matthew Feb. 24, 1876 (who married Lydia Weisser in June 1906 and lived in Spokane, WA) and Elizabeth Aug. 5, 1878, who married William Bonen and died Feb. 23, 1974 at Valley City, ND."

The info regarding Wilhelm H. Wiest is problematic. His obit states that he was born 22 Nov 1871. The 1910 census states that he was born in 1871.
But I had received another birthdate from a descendant that stated he was born 13 May 1876. The question is who you believe. He is shown in census records of being 3 years older than this wife. You can put down 13 May 1876, but who knows for certain!!

There is no evidence that Christoph Friedrich is the father of Friedrich, Dorothea Margaretha and Jacob. However, they were all born in Kirchheim and they all died in Glueckstal. Stumpp does not show Roesch in the 1816 census. Stumpp shows "Roesch, Christoph, aus Kirchheim/Ludwigsburg-Wü, 1821, nach Marienfeld/Kau". No one named Roesch voted in the 1821 election. My guess is that the Roesch family did emigrate from Wuerttemberg in 1821 with intention to go to Marienfeld but stopped when they arrived in Glueckstal - H. M. Ehrman

There were no voters from Bergdorf named Weiss in the 1821 election. There were no Weiss families in Bergdorf in the 1828 census (unpublished). Therefore it is possible the Bergdorf Weiss families did not arrive until after 1828.
