He married Lena Belle Ireland, Aug 11, 1917, at Lincoln, Neb. He served with the US Army in France during World War I. He came to Jerome in 1935 from Sutton, Neb. He worked as a mechanic for Spaeth Motor Co and the North Side Garage for many years. Before he retired in 1951 he worked in the ordinance depot in Hawthorne, Nev. He was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church and Jerome American Legion Post No 46. Surviving besides his widow, are three daughters, Mrs. Velma Janice Netz, Hawthrone, Nev., Mrs Dorothy Thompson, Jerome, and Mrs. Donna Kleinkopf, Twin Falls; a sister Mrs. Lydia Regger (Reger) Long Beach, Los Angeles, CAlif and 7 grandchildren (obit) | Wahl, Jakob (I13092)

Burial was made in Prospect Hill cemeteryFrederick J Wahl, was born near Odessa, Russia, October 10, 1883, the son of John and Margaret Wahl. He suffered a stroke January 29, 1958, and died February 6th at Memorial hospital in Wessington Springs. He emigrated with his family to the United States at the age of five and settled near Sutton, in Clay county, Nebraska, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Grace Traudt, December 28, 1908 in Stockham, Nebr. They moved to Wessington Springs in the spring of 1910 and farmed in Media township until his retirement from farming in 1947. He served as custodian at Memorial hospital for seven years. Due to poor health he retired from his duties there in 1955. He served in the Media township school board for many years.
