Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o'clock from Faith Lutheran Church in Bismarck where he was a member. Rev. Erwin Wieland officiated and interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Duane was born May 23, 1927 at Fergus Falls, Minn., eldest son of Arthur T. and Thorey Melsted Zimmerman, and came to North Dakota as an infant with his parents. He grew up in the Zap and Beulah communities and graduated from Beulah High School in 1945 as valedictorian of the class. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota in 1949. After graduation, he worked for advertising agencies in Minneapolis, Minn., Fort Wayne, Ind. and New York City. For the past four years, he lived in New York City and was employed by the Sullivan-Stauffer-Cowles and Dales Advertising Agency in New York. He is survived by his parents and one brother, Daryl E. of Beulah. Pallbearers were: Albert Uhler, Dickinson, Rev. Bowersox and Miss Adaline the wife of Victor Schwenk, both well known farmers in the Palisade Section. Burial will follow in the Halliday Cemetery. Almont passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at St. Benedict's Health Center in Dickinson. Almont was born December 2, 1932 in Halliday, ND, the son of Daniel and Annetta (Lubke) Kisse. While growing up, he attended school in Halliday and graduated in 1950. He received his teaching certificate from Dickinson State Teachers College. Almont taught one year in a country school near Dickinson. He was married to Wanda Day in Moffit, ND. To this union, five children were born: Kyle, Lauren, Gary, DeLane and Ian. Together the family made their home in the Halliday area. Almont purchased and operated the Halliday Frozen Food Locker until 1975. He then moved to Dickinson and continued to be involved in the meat cutting business. Almont later moved to Fargo and worked for Cashwise Food, cutting meat until he retired in 2005. He has since made Dickinson his home. Almont enjoyed singing, traveling, playing cards and watching baseball. He loved to be around his family and being at family gatherings. Almont was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Almont is survived by his children, Kyle (Kathy Sutton) of East Helena, MT, Lauren (Quincey) Cook of Boise, ID, Gary (Donna) Kisse of Fargo; DeLane (Robert) Estes of Prattville, AL, and Ian (Tom) Worthington of Gillette, WY; special friend, Ann Eberts of Dickinson; brothers, Wilford Kisse of Mandan, Duane (Sherry) Kisse of Colorado City, CO, and John (Elena) Kisse of Bismarck; sisters, Wilma (George) Weidrich of Bismarck, Deloris (Joe) Bogers of Buffalo, WY, and Elda (Howard) Johnson of Washburn; eight grandchildren: Jayson and Jeremy Cook, Christopher and Erica Kisse, Kelle Strankman, Joshua Armstrong, Kayla and Jessica Elkins; six great-grandchildren: Hannah, Logan, Jourdyn, Taylor, Hunter and Addyson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Joyce Kisse; and nephew, Lane Johnson. Gary was born on January 30, 1943 in Kenmare, N.D. to Walter and Norine (Flaherty) Feldner. He was reared on the family farm in White Ash Township of Renville County, attended school in Donnybrook and graduated from Donnybrook High School in 1961.During his high school years he was a member of the basketball and track teams as well as the American Legion and Babe Ruth baseball teams. He furthered his education at North Dakota State University where he was a Sergeant in the ROTC program. He transferred to Minot State University and in 1970 earned his Bachelor of Science in education with an emphasis in history and physical education. During this time he coached the Minot Model High School freshmen basketball team. Following his graduation, he was employed by Terhorst Manufacturing for thirteen years before beginning work on the oil rigs, eventually becoming a tool pusher. In addition, he assisted his family in the operation of the family farm and owned and operated the Feldner Motorcycle Race Course. Gary had resided on the farm near Donnybrook for many years prior to moving to Henry Towers in Minot three years ago. He retired due to a heart condition in 1991 and most recently had been battling prostate and bone cancer. Gary was a member of the Sportsman Motorcycle Club and received its Distinguished Service Award in 1972. He was an avid and award-winning bowler, motorcycle and snowmobile racer, and hunter. Gary's loving family includes his brothers: Wayne (Linda) Feldner of Minot, Dean (Cindy) Feldner of Donnybrook; nieces and nephews: Tana (Eric) Sorgaard, Sandi (Matt) Geiger, Dan Feldner (Janilee Mourning - fiancé) Valerie (Chad) Weigel and David (Jade) Feldner; seven grandnieces and grand- nephews and numerous cousins. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Fay Schnell. A private family service will be held. Interment will be in St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday, Sept. 13, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Revs. Kris Nyman and Richard Melchert officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, rural Zap. Gustav was born Aug. 2, 1926, at Burt, the son of Karl and Emma (Hilgemann) Sailer. He was raised and educated in a rural school near his home. He was drafted into the Army in February 1945 and was honorably discharged in December 1946. Gust was stationed in Japan when the war ended and received various medals including the victory medal. When Gust returned to North Dakota, he learned to be a butcher with Funk's Meat Market in Hebron. After that, he drove truck for a few years, finally settling down in Wishek. Gust married Lenora Irene Joachim in March 1955 at Eureka, S.D. He then operated the meat department at the Meidinger Grocery Store and later started Sailer Meat Market. Gust closed the meat market in 1970. Lenora passed away in December 1973. Gust met Ruth Duckwitz in 1980, and they were married May 23, 1981, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Zap. Together they lived in Zap for 23 years, moving to Beulah in 2003. Gust was a janitor at Zap school for many years, retiring when the school closed. Gust loved to hunt, fish, collect ¼ inch drills, work in the garden and play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always interested in their activities. Gust was a member of the Wishek American Legion for over 50 years, on the Wishek and Zap city councils and a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, 2 sons, 6 daughters, 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, 1 sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
