Linda Vie passed away in her home on May 26, 2012. Linda will be forever missed by so many. One quiet May morning she left us here to be with God.
Linda had moved from Eugene, OR to Camas, WA three years ago with her loving husband of 25 years. Linda and Curt had retired and wanted to live closer to their children and grandchildren. They shared a love for music, good food, knowledge, laughter, travel and providing a loving home for family and friends to visit. They often joked about being such opposites, but they complimented each other perfectly. Curt was the love of her life and her most valued partner on this earth.
Linda graduated cum laude from the University of Oregon in 1988 with a BA in Special Education. She taught in the Eugene area for over 24 years. Her teaching skills extended beyond the classroom as she placed a high value on education. She was known for encouraging and inspiring others to set and accomplish their goals.
Linda was a vital and active member of many local organizations. She loved to be around people who shared her positive outlook and sincere love of life, as well as those who valued service to others. She loved nothing more than to start her day walking in the serene surroundings of Round Lake Park with her friends of the Osprey Walking Group. She passionately volunteered numerous hours with the local chapter Camas Washougal of Soroptimist International. She spoke often of their very important mission. Late in life she rediscovered her love of sewing. She spent countless hours creating one of kind blankets which now not only comfort loved ones, but the homeless teen mothers and children of the Vida's Ark Shelter in Vancouver.
Linda had such a love of living and touched so many lives. She was so open to new adventures and different philosophies and certainly could have been a debater. Those who were blessed to know her were impacted by her laughter, competitive spirit, ability to mentor others and her strong desire to encourage education. She loved to read, do puzzle books, play/win at board games, go on walks, eat good food, go to the park, travel (especially if it involved Disneyland), laugh, go to the movies, hike, camp, swim, and be an example of living life to its fullest.
Linda was a loving mother and lived for the moments she spent with her daughter Pam, Son-in-law Roe, and Grandchildren Jordyn and Colby. She was always 'visiting' their home, babysitting, and curling up on the couch watching Disney movies or reading books. Jordyn was her buddy since birth, and they were inseparable. Colby always loved to see Grandma and snuggle up with her. Her son Scott put a smile in her heart with his laughter and humor. She enjoyed every moment she got to spend with him and Daughter-in-law Angie. She was so happy to see such a loving couple. Linda was very close and bonded to her daughter Shelley who will always remember the great conversations and laughter they shared. Linda counted down the days she got to spend precious time with
Shelley, Son-in-law Matt, and Grandson Owen. Owen loved his Manya from the moment they met in the hospital.
Her most cherished moments were spent with her precious grandchildren. Linda knew she was blessed to have her grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley, Jordyn, Owen and Colby. She was always willing to play a game, go for a swim, roast a marshmallow, read a book, watch a movie, play outside or give a million hugs and kisses.
There is a special place in her heart for her nephew Shag and his beautiful spirit that gave her a sense of well being and peace in her life. Her Sister Cheryl was her best friend from birth. They shared their life together, and their love of for one another's children and
the beauty of the world around them. Linda had touched the lives of numerous friends, cousins, nieces/nephews and will be so deeply missed by many.
When you think of Linda as we think you will…pick-up a new book to read or one evening step outside and gaze at the moon and marvel at the stars just like Linda loved to do.
May you feel her spirit shine down upon you.
Bondy, Linda Martha (I144144)

Paul "Sammy" Samuel Hawbaker, 87, died December 23, 2003 of natural causes at Karen Acres Healthcare Center in Urbandale.
A lifelong resident and prominent retired farm businessman, farming 40 years in Dallas County. Mr. Hawbaker raised and showed purebred spotted Poland china swine at local and regional events and the Iowa State Fair. Mr. Hawbaker was active in Dallas County 4-H, producing Grand and Reserve Champion beef cattle from his own herd on the Silver Stream Farm, west of Dallas Center. He was a salesman for Moorman Feeds and Heneke Sureway Hybrid seed corn. He was an avid rock hound and amateur archeologist, entertaining many youth groups on the subjects. He hosted an Iowa State Plowing Match. Mr. Hawbaker was a member of the Adel Raccoon Valley Sportsman Club, FFO, and local Farmers Co-op. Mr. Hawbaker started farming in 1940 on the Silver Stream Farm with horses and hand milked a herd of cows. The Massey Ferguson (MF) line of farm equipment intrigued Mr. Hawbaker, as he had the first five bottom plow in Dallas County and worked with MF on one of the 25 self-propelled combines harvesting equipment. In his later years Paul renewed a passion for poetry and composed many poems about farm life and life in general. Each Hawbaker reunion was highlighted by his wit in poetry. Mr. Hawbaker was an adventurer with a passion for life. He attended hog and cattle shows, enjoyed fishing, hunting and hunting for mushrooms. He also was compassionate and would drop his daily activities to help others.
Mr. Hawbaker is survived by four children, Myra Ann Hawbaker, Stephen Paul Hawbaker, Suzette Lynn Crees, and Lonnie Dean Hawbaker; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Wingert. Roland Marion Reibenspies, 59, passed away June 17th, 2015, at The Tipton Manor Nursing Home.
He was the son of the late Leo and Louise Reibenspies of Tipton, MO and the youngest of their six children, Terence (wife Dottie) Reibenspies of Simi Valley, CA, Hedy (husband Al) Rackers of Columbia, MO, Philip Reibenspies (died at birth), Jane (husband Glen) Stratman of Jefferson City, MO and Renee (husband Bob) Barr of Marshall, MO.
Roland was a Down Syndrome special needs child born January 31, 1956 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Boonville, MO.
He lived at home for several years and would live in Group Homes in the Sedalia and Smithton area until he came to the Tipton nursing home. He struggled to do ordinary tasks as a baby and toddler but would eventually learn to walk at age 5. His parents provided him with the extra care and love he needed and his siblings cared for him also. He was a brother, playmate and special addition to our family.
When Roland was born, the book "Angel Unaware" written by Dale Evans Rogers was a great comfort to his parents. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans had a Down Syndrome little girl born into their family and the book is written from their little angel's perspective. The book was faith filled and inspiring for parents with special needs children. Roland was our angel and while we do not know or understand the plans God has made for us we heed the words, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs: 3:5-6
Roland lived much longer than anyone expected, and we are grateful for the loving care he received from all of his caregivers over the years and most recently those at The Tipton Oak Manor. We thank all of you who gave Roland your loving attention. We rest in the knowledge that Roland is no longer bound by the limits of his human body but is in the care of our Heavenly Father who welcomes this special angel home.
Services will be held July 11th, 2015, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tipton, with visitation beginning at 10:00 in church and the funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Fred Elskamp and Deacon Terry Reibenspies officiating.
Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
