A terrible accident in which two lives were lost, occurred Wednesday. Clarence Newman was digging a cesspool for K. Leffelbein. He dug too close to the old cesspool, the wall broke through and he was overcome with sewer gas. Mrs. Leffelbein went to his rescue and was overcome.
When Miss Leffelbein came home at noon, she discovered the bodies in the pool, although everything possible was done to restore consciousness, such efforts were unavailing.
The grief stricken families have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. (Funeral details followed.)
