Goctz, 82, died June 4, 1990, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse. She was born Nov. 16, 1907, at Great Bend, the daughter of Edward and Margaret Downey McGinty. A resident of La Crosse most of her life, she was a homemaker, a former schoolteacher, an employee of the La Crosse Library, and bookkeeper at the Post Rock Museum. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the 60 Plus Center, all at La Crosse. On Nov. 10, 1938, she married Adolph H. Goetz at La Crosse. He survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Phyllis Hooker, Oakley, and Mary Kay Brown, Hays; a sister, Grace Keenan, Great Bend; 10 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, La Crosse, with Father Eugene Kenny presiding. Burial will be in La Crosse City Cemetery. Memorials may be given for Catholic Masses or sent to Rush County Nursing Home, both in care of the funeral home. Betty went to be with our Lord on December 9, 2012 in Oklahoma City at the St. Anthony Hospital. She was a member of Beaty Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband: Johnny of the home in Pauls Valley. Betty was the oldest of three girls and one brother who is deceased. After high school, Betty joined the U. S. Air Force. She and Johnny met at a basketball game while they both were stationed in Denver, Co. Lowry A.F.B. Johnny said he saw Betty standing on the steps in the basketball gym and thought she was the most beautiful woman he ever saw. Their first date was in January of 1950 and they married on March 4, 1950. They were married sixty-two years, nine months, and five days. Betty enjoyed water skiing, motorcycle vacation trips and motorcycle rallies. She owned and ran the Western Café for about five years. She was a nurses aid for ten years at the Pauls Valley Hospital. She was Johnny's secretary at their motorcycle shop, Rebel Suzuki in Pauls Valley. Betty also loved being with her family. After they were married Betty and Johnny lived in Pauls Valley for thirty-seven years. They moved to Corpus Christi to be a Kawaski Sales Manager. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m. He was born on Feb. 10, 1913, on the family farm in rural Cascade, son of Joseph and Frances (Klein) Menster. He received his education in the former St. Martin's School in Cascade. He married Leona A. Breitbach on Nov. 24, 1938, at St. Martin's Church in Cascade. The couple farmed in the rural Cascade area all their lives. He was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade. He was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Belpre, Kan., to Paul Bernard and Christina (Gales) Meyer. He married Roberta Montgomery May 22, 1954, in Belpre, Kan. The couple then moved to Lubbock in 1960. Paul served in the U.S. Army 5th Cavalry Regiment 13 during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Purple Heart. He was a member of Christ the King Cathedral Church, 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, LULAC, Serra Club, and Order of the Purple Heart. His memory will be cherished by his wife of more than 56 years, Roberta; daughter, Paula Shields and husband Steve of Morton; son, Steve Meyer and wife Kathy of Mesquite; sister, Mary Jean Hirsh of Kinsley, Kan.; brothers, Jerry Meyer of Belpre, Kan., and Mike Meyer of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Becky Hardin and husband Casey of Shallowater, Tiffany Shields of Frisco, and Courtney, Lauren and Jacob Meyer of Mesquite; two great-grandsons, Cash and Hayden Hardin of Shallowater; and several nieces and nephews. He was born Sept, 25 1897 in a sod house on a homestead near Maywood, the son of Lucius and Ann Faust Nolan. In 1923 he purchased the Ford dealership in Herndon. Mr. Nolan later moved his business to St. Francis, Kan. He was married to Rose Traphagan at Hastings June 10, 1918 and she preceded him in death. On April 18, 1945 he married Elizabeth Zimbelman who survives. Other survivors are a daughter Mrs. Elmer (Maxine) Tongish of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and Harold of Wray, Colo; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Clara Scheidt of Ontario, Calif., and Marie Neubar of Idaho Falls, Idaho. He served as a councilman and mayor and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shrine Club and Elks Lodge and received a 50-year Masonic pin.
