Twice married, her first husband was Merton Gorsuch, who died in 1950; her second husband was James D. Bowersox, who died in 1990. Mrs. Bowersox was a member of Edgewood Church of the Brethren. She retired from AT&T after 20 years of service. She enjoyed baking, traveling, playing canasta, and flower and vegetable gardening. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Witmer, of Hagerstown, Md., and Lisa Booth, of Bowie, Md.; two sons, Austin Gorsuch, of Woodsboro, Md., and James Bowersox, of Frederick; two grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Miriam Devilbiss and Helen Devilbiss. She was predeceased by a grandson, James Matthew Bowersox; and two brothers, Frank E. and William A. Devilbiss. Interment was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick; Hartzler Funeral Home, Libertytown, Md. was in charge of the arrangements; a memorial service was held at Edgewood Church of the Brethren, New Windsor. Anna Lee was born on September 29, 1940 in San Diego, California to J.W. and Pauline G. (Rhodes) Looney. Anna Lee grew up in San Diego, during her childhood. Her family lived in several places, due to her father being in the military. In 1962, she married Donald "Sonny" Zimbelman at the Keenesburg Baptist Church in Keenesburg, Colorado. Anna Lee volunteered at Southeast Weld County Fair, announcing at the Livestock Show. She enjoyed hunting for Arrowheads, bowling, going on cruises, trips to Las Vegas and Blackhawk and watching NASCAR; her favorites were Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson. Anna Lee was very outgoing. Her grandchildren enjoyed watching dry humor shows on TV with her. At Sunday dinners with her family, her specialties were roast potatoes, gravy and German desserts. Her favorite drink was Dr. Pepper. Anna Lee is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (James) Denning; two sons, Tony Zimbelman and Jason (Valerie) Zimbelman; brother, Andy (Jane) Looney and five grandchildren, Jacob Denning, Austin Zimbelman, Brennan Zimbelman, Jordan Denning and Colton Zimbelman. Mrs. Sayler was born May 9, 1909, on a farm near Venturia, North Dakota to Jacob J. and Elizabeth (Schwindt) Dockter. At the age of 10 she moved with her parents to the outskirts of Venturia, where they farmed for many years. When she was 18 her parents bought a general merchandise store in Venturia, and she assisted her father in its operation. She married Otto Sayler in Ashley, June 23, 1930. Her husband was employed by Standard Oil Co. as a bulk station agent. He was transferred to several other small towns. In 1961 the Saylers moved west of Wapato, Washington, where they farmed a 20-acre orchard until retiring in 1976 and moving to Union Gap, Washington. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church; the Lydia Circle of the church; and attended Christian Women's Club. Survivors include her husband, Otto Sayler of Union Gap, Washington; two sons, Lyle Sayler of Yakima, Washington, and Lamont Sayler of Bellevue, Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Frances) Tracy and Marlys Danielson, both of Yakima, Washington; a brother, Cornelius Dockter of Chester, Connecticut; three sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Rebecca) Fuehrer of Herreid, S.D., Mrs. Alex (Mary) Zimmermann of Ashley, and Mrs. Alfred (Olga) Dobler of Venturia; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by twin sons, Douglas and Dennis Sayler, in their infancy and a brother, Calvin Dockter. He graduated from Avon High School in 1961. He married Marge Thaler on Dec. 28, 1963, in Avon. He was stationed in the Philippines and Turkey in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He worked for a year as a carpet layer for Reynolds Furniture in Mitchell. In 1970, Gary graduated from the University of South Dakota/Springfield. He worked at Mitchell Technical Institute as an accounting instructor and financial aid director from 1970 to 1980. In 1980, he worked in a Mitchell accounting business until 1982, when he began teaching business and accounting classes at Mitchell High School. He retired in 2002. He then served as a substitute teacher at MHS. Gary and Marge traveled around the United States and overseas to see friends and relatives. He took on carpet-laying and car-detailing jobs during the summer while he was teaching full time. Gary rarely missed going to coffee and liked to work on jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhardt. He took pride in the success of his students and in the MHS Future Business Leaders of America chapter. Gary had a strong faith in God and was devoted to Marge and his family. Throughout their married life John and Norma lived in Russell Springs, Garden City, Amarillo, and Denver. Norma worked for various oil companies and was an Amway Distributer throughout her life. After retirement she enjoyed working at White Fence Farms Gift Shop. After John passed away in 2002, Norma enjoyed driving to Texas to visit her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
