Arlene Remboldt was born April 5, 1940 at the family farm home NE of Gackle, ND, the daughter of Edward C. and Ida (Hehn) Remboldt. She attended school at Gackle and graduated from Gackle High School in 1958. She and Lloyd Veil were married May 20, 1960. They made their home in Lincoln, NE for 4 years, and then moved to Streeter where they made their life together running Streeter Paint and Carpet for 48 years. Arlene was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her 3 children. She loved to help people, always going the extra mile with her energetic personality; Arlene was a friend to many and loved by all. She loved life… to bad there are only 24 hours in a day! Arlene enjoyed feeding the birds, camping, mowing the lawn and “Happy Hour” with friends. However, most important to Arlene was the time she spent with her husband and family. Arlene is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lloyd; three children: Shelly (Gary) Staggs, Brent (J.J.) Veil, Kip Veil; two grandsons and four great grandchildren; one sister, Twilla (Dwight) Wiest; mother-in-law, Frieda Veil; brothers-in-law, Jerome (Jodell) Veil, Randy (Karen) Veil, Jeff (LaVon) Veil, Don Buckmiller, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and sister-in-law’s, Clyde and Alice Remboldt, Clayton and Twila Remboldt, Kevin Remboldt, sister-in-law, Irene Buckmiller and father-in-law, Adolph Veil. Betty Zimbelman was born April 23, 1927 in Medina, North Dakota the daughter of Edward and Louisa (Moser) Zimbelman. Betty met and married Ralph Elhard on January 17, 1946. They had three children, Jean Heil, Gloria Bitz and Deborah (Larry) Morlock. Betty lover her family and spending time with them. She was a home maker and enjoyed taking care of their three girls. Betty also enjoyed putting together picture puzzles. She was the last of the Zimbelman's in her family. Betty is survived by her three daughters, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters Alda, Loretta, Ester and one brother. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Steve Berntson, officiating. He met Katharina Falkenberg and were married Oct. 30, 1905 in Plotzk, Bessarabia, South Russia. The couple left Dennewitz, South Russia traveling to Hamburg Germany where they boarded the Ship Britania and set sail for New York City, New York. They settled in Pollock, Dakota Territy where Christ worked on autos and tractors. He also did custom threshing, he had four machines such as Wood Brothers, and Case. One of the tractors burned in a fire while threshing corn. His son John and step-son Christ Reich helped with the combining. On Sept. 4, 1922 his wife Katharina died of appendicitis complications leaving Christ with 8 young children. The youngest only 2 weeks old. On Jan. 23, 1923 he married Margarethe Schultz Reich in Aberdeen, South Dakota. In June 1927 the family moved to a farm near Timber Lake, South Dakota. Lynne Marie Keller was born Oct. 13, 1961, in Bismarck, to Gordon and Daphne (Broeckel) Keller. Lynne lived in Bismarck until May 1974, when the family moved to Center. Lynne attended high school in Center, graduating in 1979. Lynne married Dean Pfeifer on July 13, 1990, and lived on the family farm north of Hazen. Lynne worked for Industrial Lube and P&H Minpro while in North Dakota. The couple moved to Wyoming in September 2005, where Dean went to work for Powder River Coal. Lynne is survived by her husband, Dean, Douglas, Wyo.; her daughter, Yvonne, Hemmet, Calif.; her father, Gordon, New Salem; her brothers, Wallace (Becky) and Mark (Michelle), both of Bismarck; her two grandchildren, Kevin and Geoffery; and her half-sister, Patsy Riley, Washington. He is survived by his wife; and two daughters, Dorene and husband, Lynn Diller of Somerset and Brenda and husband, James Wingert of St. Thomas; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He's also survived by a brother, Kenneth Myers, and wife, Janet (Stuff) of Chambersburg; sister, Norma Jean Meyers of Greencastle; and twin sister, Phillis, wife of Marlin Gayman of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Chester Meyers. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 10 AM, at Portico River Brethren Meeting House, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Bro. Kenneth Meyers, Bro. David Heckman, and Bro. Nathan Burkholder will be officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 11 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Portico River Brethren Meeting House, 5501 Fort McCord Road, Chambersburg. Mel graduated from Gackle High School and later attended Valley City State University, Mel retired as a supervisor from Goehring Meats, He was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 60 years where he was a deacon, taught Sunday school, and sang in the church choir. Mel loved to fish and go to garage sales. Mel is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Nora Gums and Sally Grosz. Mel is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Bertha Lehr, wife Ruth (Zimmerman) Lehr and son David Lehr, grandchildren; Shannon Weible and Jacob Wasden, also brothers Art and Ray Lehr, sisters Pearl Lehr and Dora Austin. Memorial Contributions can be made to the First Baptist Building Fund. Visitation will be at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240 on Friday July 21, 2017 from 12-8pm.
