The family farmed west of Herreid, South Dakota where in 1917 her husband Edward died from a fall while building a barn on their farm. 117356 | www.findagrave.com: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=26581579 Anna Marie Pudwill was born in Kherson Nikolajew Neu-Danzig, Russia and her baptism records from the Russian Lutheran Church show she was born 13 Oct 1860 to Michael Pudwill and Dorothea Engel. Anna was married to John Jakob Berndt before she came to America from Russia in Oct 1889 on board the S/S Columbia. She arrived with her Mother and Father, Brothers, Sisters and her two children, Christine and Jacob B Berndt Jr. Her husband Jacob Sr. died in Russia. Shortly after arriving in America she married Peter "Grun" Green who was from Fischerdorf, Russia. They married in North Dakota and together they had 3 more children Katherine (Katie), Peter Jr. and Lydia. When Peter Green Sr. got older he became bedridden and Anna took care of him for 9 years. His grand-daughters said he was onery and would hit them with his cane if got close enough. I suppose being bedridden would make anyone onery. Anna moved to Powder River County, near Brodus, Montana in the 1930's to be with her daughters were she continued to raise her two grand-daughters Hilda Edith Berndt and Violet Alice Berndt with the help of her daughter Lydia. She died in Broadus, Montana and was returned to South Dakota to be buried with her husband, Peter in the Fairview Cemetery in Herreid, South Dakota. | Pudwill, Anna Maria (I136450)

117368 | www.findagrave.com: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=33493734 Son of William Clark and Mary (Evans) Clark. Married Emmeretta Worley 31 Jul 1912 in Beloit, Mitchell Co, Kansas. Father of Gretta (Clark) Harbert and L Ray Clark. From the files of Clyde C Clark He was born in Asherville Twp, Mitchell Co, w/Asherville as PO, KS. The oldest son of William C and Mary (Evans) Clark. Received his education from "Old Dist. 83 on the one time Hiway 24/40, a cement surface east of Beloit, KS. He spent the greater par of his life in Mitchell Co, KS. From his school records it was learned that being the oldest boy, was needed at home to help with farm work! One term of school he was present only 5 days! It seems he helped his parents move to Dewey Co, OK ca1905. He returned to Mitchell Co, was a farm laborer in the county. Married Etta Emma Worley 31 Jul 1912, by a Justice of the Peace in Beloit, KS. It appears that this new family lived a short time with her parents in the Logan Twp, rural Mitchell Co, Green Mound area, south of the present Church of Christ on the west side of the road. It was a part log and part stone house. I, Clyde C, was born there. Just when they moved to Beloit, KS is not known, but was before the birth of the third child, Ray (1919). They were living near the "George Dooley Ice House" in south west part of town. And, too, I can remember living on west Main St.; there was a talk of the "terrible disease" in town, this has to be the "flu" during WWI. Walter C was born 1 Dec 1888, died 30 Nov 1945 in the Beloit Community Hospital. Gretta and I were at his bedside at the time, the hour was late afternoon, possibly 5:00/6:00 pm. He is buried in Green Mound, just north of Grandpa and Grandma Worley. Further to the north is an uncle of his, his mother's brother, George Evans. Walter and Etta divorced ca1929/1930. He married again. | Clark, Walter Calvin (I106448)

117369 | www.findagrave.com: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=33508031 Son of Thomas Clark (1791-1864) and Roda (Dunigan) Clark (1794-1866). Married Elizabeth Cullison 7 Jun 1857 in Owen Co, Indiana. Father of William Clark. Regiment: 13 Battery, Indiana Light Artillery Union Soldier Soldier's Rank_In Corp Soldier's Rank_Out Corp Film Number M540 roll 13 From the files of Clyde C Clark He was born 24 Feb 1832 in Eel River Twp, Greene Co, IN, a son of Thomas and Roda (Dunigan) Clark; they were natives of North Carolina. He died at the home of his daughter, Mary (Clark) Mentzer, 6 Dec 1902 and is buried in Olio Cemetery, Eureka, IL, Woodford Co, Lot A C-2 GAR stone. He married Elizabeth Cullison in Owen Co, IN 7 Jun 1857. Elizabeth was born in Ohio, possibly a daughter of Jeremiah and Rebecca Cullison of Coshocton Co, IL. I believe she had a brother named Jacob Alfred, he found in 1860 census for Greene Co, and too a Jacob A Cullison was found in the family of Jeremiah of Ohio, his age in both census are compatible. Ira was in the 1900 census for Greene Co, in the house of Jacob's widow Cevira Cullison as a "boarder". Then twelve days later in the census in Woodford Co in the house of daughter and son-in-law. In the obit of his son, Samuel Clark, who died in 1926, a statement to the effect that Ira took his family to Woodford Co, IL when he, Samuel, was 5 years of age; this would be about 1873, as Samuel was born 2 May 1868 in IN. From copies of Mil Recs from Washington DC, Ira made a statement to the effect he went to Kansas in 1876: "I then in Kansas 1 Oct 1876". Would seem he and brother Jesse F and possibly Thomas P went to KS at same time. Ira and Jesse F were in census 1880 in Graham Co, Graham Twp, KS. Thomas P may have gone to Missouri to claim his intended, as he was married in Herman, MO 1878. In between the Federal and State census 1880 and 1885 resp, Ira was found in Mitchell Co, Asherville Twp, KS in state census. Appears Jesse F and family made the move at same time, as Jesse died in Cloud Co, KS north of Glasco, KS 1892. Ira's wife, Elizabeth Cullison, was born 10 Apr 1840 in OH; died in Mitchell Co, Asherville Twp, KS 11 Feb 1889; is buried in Cemetery at Glasco, Cloud Co, KS | Clark, Ira (I106450)

Father of Walter Clark. From the files of Clyde C Clark Eldest son of Ira and Elizabeth (Cullison) Clark, was born in Eel River Township, Greene County, Indian 10 Jul 1858. Went to Woodford County, Illinois in late 1860s or early 1870s, with Eureka as Post Office. In 1860 census, he was 2 years of age. Ira at 27 years and Elizabeth at 20 years. Living in Jefferson Township, Owen County, Arney as Post Office. It's highly possible he went to Kansas the same time his parents did. Was in Mitchell County, Kansas in 1880 census as a hired hand for a farmer. William married Mary Evans, 26 Feb 1888 in Logan Township, Mitchell County, Kansas "at the home of her parents" Hugh P and Adelaide (Mead) Evans. The minister was Ed Peter Shurts, a father-in-law to Mary (Kilpatrick) Shurts. She is a sister of Rachel (Kilpatrick) Worley. In 1905, the family of William moved to Dewey County, Oklahoma. May have been Enid, Oklahoma earlier, as Dad spoke of Enid. They both died in Dewey County, Mary 11 Mar 1922 and also in 1922. Mary was born in Willow Springs Township, Douglas County, Kansas, Willow Springs as the Post Office. Mary's family were found in Douglas County in 1870 census. 117375 | www.findagrave.com: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=33967266 Son of Hugh Evans and Adelaide (Mead) Evans. Brother of Mary (Evans) Clark. George Evans, the son of HP Evans of Logan Twp, who had been cutting wood down on the Solomon River near Tanquery's mill, taking his dinner along with him and returning in the evening, did not appear home at the usual time on Wednesday. His parents, becoming alarmed, initiated a search for him, and found where he had eaten dinner. Searching further, they found evidence that he had afterwards gone skating and following the marks of the skates, they came to the place where he had broken through the ice, everything going to show that he had made efforts to draw himself out of the water, but marks on the ice around the edges of the hole showed his attempt had proved unvailing. After grappling for some time, the body was recovered. The young man was eighteen years of age and much sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents in the sudden and lamentable cutting off of a bright young life. | Evans, George L. (I106464)

117388 | www.findagrave.com: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=35051634 Mrs Annie Charlotta Ericson, nee Anderson was born in Lundberg socken, Kalmar län, Sweden, Sept 23, 1852 and passed away peacefully in her home in Oakland July 28, 1938, at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 5 days. Her childhood days were spent in Sweden, but in 1868, at the age of 16, she came with her parents to America. For seven years they lived in Henry Co., Ill., and then six years in Jasper Co., Iowa. Jan 25, 1875 she was united in marriage to Edward Ericson, and in 1881 they moved to Nebraska. The first year out here they lived in the Salem community, and from there they moved to their own farm, the place where their son Oliver now resides. Many years later they moved to another farm across the road, where they remained until 1905, when it was time for them to retire, when they did, moving into town, where their home has been ever since. Mr Ericson passed away suddenly, Dec 6, 1932 and it was not long after his departure that Mrs Ericson last her health and vigor. To them were born five sons, all present today, Bert of Lyons, Oliver of Oakland, Fred of Lincoln, George of Omaha and Roy of Oakland. She is also survived by six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs Minnie Johnson of Oakland, two brothers, John R Anderson of Spooner, Wis., and Gust E Anderson of Vetal, S. D. and other relatives. Mrs Ericson transferring her membership to the West Side church when they moved here. Both she and her husband were faithful and active members of the church until the end. I have been told of her willingness to take part in the church work in earlier years when she still was strong and healthy. That willingness she did show also in her later years, when we used to have meetings with our aged members in town. If nobody else could open their home for a meeting, she was always willing and ready. Her trust in God was sweet and sure. When her memory became muddled, when she could no longer recognize even her dear ones, she always knew her pastor, and many a time she expressed her joy in the Master, when I read the word to her and we prayed together. Lately she was tired and wanted to go home to see her Savior, who had become so dear to her heart. Tuesday evening she went into a coma, from which she did not rally. the spirit was on its homeward way, and she would not be disturbed. On Thursday morning the last step was taken, the worn out, broken tabernacle was left, and the soul took its flight to eternal realms of beauty and peace. she had suffered a long time and rest was well earned. during her sickness she has been tenderly cared for by her nurse who has been very kind and good to her. To me and my family Mr and Mrs Ericson were very dear friends, never wavering, always true and kind. I am deeply thankful for that friendship, and I do count it among the riches of my life. And our church has lost one more of those fine, faithful members who are becoming so few. In a little more than a year five old ladies of our church have heard the call from the Master. May our dear friend rest in peace and receive the glorious crown, promised God's children. Any may the heavenly Father console and bless you children and grandchildren and all who stood near to her. There is a meeting again on the other side. Funeral services were held from the home and from the West Side Methodist church on Sunday, July 31, many friends having gathered to bid farewell to the old pilgrim. Beautiful flowers spoke of friendship and love. The West Side Quartette, Mrs L Stromberg, Miss Minerva Henry, Edward Nelson and Vernor Anderson, sang both in church and at the cemetery and Eleroy Stromberg gave a Swedish solo. The pastor preached the sermon and so the remains were taken away and laid to rest | Anderson, Anna Charlotta (I106538)
