The "C" in Christian's name is not so much an initial representing a middle name but simply indicated the Ochsner clan to which they belonged. The "C" was obviously for the sons of Christian. All his brothers had the same initial.
In the spring of 1901 Chris and his family moved by covered wagon from Clay County to a farm near Berwyn, Nebraska, where he farmed with his brother Edward for 3 years before Edward married and began farming on his own.
A double funeral was held for Christian and his brother Edward, who died one day after Christian. Source: Adeline Ochsner Grabert & Roy Dale Copsey.
