96001 | Uwe Zimbelmann: Burial: Friedland Moravian Graveyard Winston-Salem, Forsyth County. North Carolina, USA Row 3, grave 2 http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=61264196 Jacob Rominger was the only known child of Johann Martin Rominger (1752-1779) and Elizabeth Wohlfahrt Snider (1768-1826), who married in c1777 in North Carolina. Jacob was raised in the Moravian Community of Friedland, then in Stokes, now in Forsyth County, North Carolina. Jacob married Elisabeth Clewell Clauss (1776-1845) on 26 Dec 1801 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. It is not known what happened to Elisabeth after Jacob died, it is not thought that she remarried or moved from North Carolina, and it is not known where she is buried. Jacob and Elisabeth were the parents of five known children, although there may be a sixth. The children were: 1. beata (baby boy) Rominger (1802-1802) 2. Franz (Francis) Rominger (1804-1870) 3. Naemann Rominger (1808-???) 4. Lorentz (Lawrence) Rominger (1811-???) 5. Jacob Rominger Jr. (1813-???) Nothing is known of the last three children, presumably they died young, although it is not known where they are buried. Links to Jacob's parents and son Francis are included below. | Rominger, Jacob (I106921)

Before his illness he was a very industrious man, one of those kind of pioneers who are a priceless asset to any community, a tireless worker who helped produce the things the community needed. He accumulated property and became a heavy and cheerful taxpayer. The welfare of his country, his family and friends, were his constant thot and his efforts and energy were expended in doing for them. He was a kindly christian gentleman. He has long been a member of some church and a faithful follower of the Nazarene. Since 1912 he has been an active member of the Evangelical church in Guide Rock, but during his last years he was not permitted, because of ill health, to attend church services. Besides his wife and children there is left to mourn his death, 21 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Not only his family, but the entire community feels keenly the loss of a good citizen, a loving husband and kind father.
