Pueblo Chieftain - Pueblo, Colorado - September 10, 2004
Donald G. Kitzman, 70, passed away Sept. 8, 2004. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose Kitzman; and brother, Robert Kitzman. Don is survived by his three children, Donielle (Dan) Gonzales of Pueblo, Mark (Laurie) Daly of Denver, and Kurt (Ann) Daly of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two brothers, Kenneth (Lori) Kitzman of Grand Junction and Wesley (June) Kitzman of Pueblo; four grandchildren, Gavin, Zachary, Noah, Hannah, and one he never had the pleasure of meeting, Jennifer; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and family members. Don also will be missed by the many friends he made along the way, some of whom knew him as "Nipper." Many heartfelt thanks go to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice for all they have done and continue to do, as well as much love and appreciation for his two special guardian angels, Kathy and Dan Pacheco. He was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Kersey, Colo. After graduating high school, he spent his time working in the family's service station in Lakewood, Colo. He then joined the insulation trade for Local 28. Through his travels in the trade, he helped to craft the Alaskan Pipeline, Hoover Dam, Norad and our local Comanche Power Plant, to name a few. He served 35 years in the Insulators Union before contracting asbestoses of the lungs and retiring. He was a great friend, father, and brother who was perfectly flawed, but always had heart. Memorial service to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Imperial Funeral Home and Cemetery. Friends and family will be welcomed at a celebration of his life immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice.
