Nora L. Bruner, 99, of Hope died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor at Hope where she had lived for the last six years.
Nora was born Dec. 12, 1907, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of Garah A Trotter and Effie Sullivan Trotter. She married George W. Bruner April 3, 1929. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before George passed away June 20, 1989.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruner owned and operated Bruner Hardware on the Hope town square for 26 years, retiring in 1969. Nora was a graduate of Hope High School, a member of Hope United Methodist Church, a charter member of Kappa Kappa Sigma sorority and a 50-year member of Hope Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a sister, JoAnne Burnes of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband George; a sister, Josephine Burnes; and brothers, Dallas Trotter and Lee Trotter.
Memorials may be made to Hope United Methodist Church or Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Calling will be at Norman Funeral Home at Hope beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Revs. Jerry Crouse and Ron Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
