Emil Grenz passed away at the home of his parents. Contracted the flu last March, later inflammatory rheumatism developed, followed by dropsy, the direct cause of his death. His parents sought the aid of many skilled physicians in an effort to save their beloved son. Emil had been looking forward to receiving some grapes from a friend in California, and Monday his father went down to the post office about 4 o'clock to see if they had arrived. He returned in a few minutes after his son had breathed his last at about 4:30 pm. His mother and his sister Hulda were at his bedside when he answered the call of his Maker. Emil Grenz was born on the Grenz Homestead in Napoleon on May 11, 1911 and passed away at the age of 15 yrs. 3 months and 12 days.
