Stella Dietrich, 90, of Grand Island died on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Golden LivingCenter-Park Place.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the United Congregational Church, with the Rev. Lonnie Logan officiating. A private family burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Mrs. Dietrich was born on Jan. 25, 1922, at Imperial to Frank and Pauline (Glause) Needham.
She married John Dietrich in 1941 at Berthoud, Colo. He died in 2009.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, John L. and Bobbe Dietrich of Lincoln, and a daughter, Susan Lysinger of Grand Island.
Additional survivors include a grandson, Nicholas Lysinger of Jacksonville, Fla.; six granddaughters, Angela Krance of Palmer, Andrea and husband, Jeff Farber, of Anaheim, Calif., Carrie and husband, Mitch Gonzales, of Lincoln, Cindy and husband, John Lefler Jr. of Lincoln, Amber and husband, Steve Jarecki, of Lincoln, and Erin and husband, Jon Randell, of Omaha; six great-grandsons, Neil Kilchriste of Lincoln, Niles Kilchriste of San Diego, Gage Gonzales of Lincoln, Gavin Gonzales of Lincoln, Dietrich John Lefler of Lincoln and Ryan John Pritchard of Jacksonville, Fla.; and six great-granddaughters, Mikaya Lysinger of Anaheim, Calif., Madison Lysinger of Jacksonville, Fla., Emma Gonzales of Lincoln, Elise Lefler of Lincoln, Adeline Lefler of Lincoln and Etta Randell of Omaha.
The family moved to Grand Island in 1933. She attended Walnut Junior High and graduated from Grand Island Senior High with the class of 1938.
Stella and John resided all their married life in Grand Island. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her children and participated in PTA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was a 70-year member of the United Congregational Church and was a member of the Ladies Circle.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, ceramics, bowling and most of all enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Marvin Needham.
