SCHULTZ, Melvin Passed away January 13, 2010 in Davenport, WA his home Harrington, WA.
He is survived by his wife Helen Schultz at the home, three children Priscilla (and Richard) Derr of Odessa, WA, Wayne (and Katie) Schultz of Umatilla, OR; Kathleen Dechand of Spokane, WA. Mel has five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His sister Donna (and Paul) Sinker of Spokane, WA and Aunt Frances Schultz of Davenport, WA and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. He is preceded in death by his first wife Frances in 1984 and two sisters Lenore and Ruth Hardt.
He is a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Harrington, WA and the American Legion, Odessa, WA. Mel enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, woodworking, cards, trips to the casino, he was a sport enthusiast especially Gonzaga, but loved spending time with his family.
Rosary Services, Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 7:00PM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Harrington, WA. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Pat MacMahon, officiating. Vault Interment and burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrington, WA. Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Cemetery Endowment Care Fund or to the Haiti Relief Fund. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA is caring for the family.
