Hulda Schlenker, 87, Jamestown, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Hulda Muller was born March 28, 1914, in Neudorf Township, near Gackle, N.D., the daughter of Jacob and Kathrina (Adam) Muller. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew up in the area. She married Edward Schlenker March 19, 1936, at Gackle. They began farming four miles southwest of Gackle, then moved to a farm three miles south of Gackle. In 1947 they moved into Gackle. In 1949 they moved to a farm six miles northwest of Gackle, until they retired in 1971 and moved back into Gackle. He died Oct. 18, 1987. In 1998 she entered Gackle Care Center, Gackle. In June 2000 she entered Central Dakota Village, Jamestown. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Gackle Senior Center, both Gackle. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Arlon (Kay), Des Moines, Iowa, and Dallas (Jonelle), Jamestown; a sister, Magdalena Muller, Jamestown; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle, with the Rev. David Winterfeldt officiating.
Arrangements by Haut Funeral Homes, Gackle.
Burial: Gackle City Cemetery, Gackle.
