      Sutton resident, Norma Marie (Witte) Nuss, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the Sutton Nursing Home.
      Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2015, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Sutton, NE with Pastor Wayne Oblender officiating. Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family present to greet friends and relatives from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE.
      Memorials may be directed to the family and will be decided at a later date.
      She was born on January 16, 1930, in Grafton, NE, to George and Hazel (Pearson) Witte. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Grafton. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1947. She attended York College during the summer months of 1948 and 1949. She taught three years in Fillmore County.
      She married Verdell Nuss on August 20, 1950. They lived north of Sutton on the farm and moved to town in 1962. They were blessed with three children, Doug, Greg and Marcia.
      Norma was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Sutton. She was a dedicated church worker, taught Sunday School, Bible Study and was a member of the Altar Guild. She loved doing Bible study at the Sutton Nursing Home. She was also a member of the Sutton Legion Auxiliary and many extension clubs.
      Her greatest love was her dear Lord, church, family and friends. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was a great bridge player and met many new friends. She also enjoyed her dear coffee friends whom she enjoyed entertaining.
      She and Verdell traveled many places and made great memories. They were married for 54 years when Verdell passed away on December 7, 2004.
      She is survived by her children: Doug (Corinne) Nuss of Sutton; Greg (Rene) Nuss of Des Moines, Iowa; and Marcia (Jim) Smith of Sutton; grandchildren: Ashlee Nuss of Grand Island, Emalee (Ben) Francis of Crete; Amelia (Jason) Palmer of Des Moines, Iowa, Reed Nuss of Kansas City, Missouri, and Weston Nuss of Lincoln; BJ (Meredith) Smith of Sutton, and Jamie (Travis) Tinsman of Hastings. She also has eight great-grandchildren: Ava, Madelyn, Evalyn, Addison, Reagan, Myles, Ella and Quinn. Also her two sisters: Lou Render of Lincoln and Eunice (Jack) Jackson of Minden. Also many nieces, nephews and friends.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, niece, and husband, Verdell.
