Beverly Mackey, Blaine, Minn., died May 8, 2013.
Beverly Elaine Kellogg was born March 13, 1946 in Burke, S.D., the daughter of Francis and Mildred Kellogg. She graduated from Miller High School. She became a believer in Jesus Christ in her grade school years. She married Jerry Mackey on August 27, 1966.
She worked several years as a nurse's aide, a receptionist, and later as a newspaper delivery coordinator. For many years while her young sons were growing up she volunteered at Madison Grade School coordinating the volunteers working with children that needed extra help in their studies, and also supervised the nursery at church.
She was an accomplished seamstress and homemaker and an avid bargain hunter at the thrift stores, undoubtedly saving countless dollars.
After raising her sons she enjoyed motor home traveling and attended many classic country and gospel shows, dirt track racing events, and rodeos.
She also enjoyed playing cards with surrogate parents, Elmer and Lorene Martini, and dear friends, Tom and Diane LeMon, and playing dominoes with son Mike. She enjoyed a special friendship with Holly Olson and loved finding thrift stores treasures for her daughter Piper.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; son, Edward (Mary) of Maplewood, Minn.; son, Michael, of Saint Anthony Village, Minn.; brother, Donald (Carol) of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Kellogg; nephew Kevin Kellogg; nieces Cindy Goodrich and Paula Schear.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Allen Eugene Kellogg and Ernest LeRoy Kellogg.
