George H Neiffer, 74, died at Prairie Community Hospital Monday. Mr Neiffer had been ill for three years. Services were Wednesday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church in Terry. Interment was made in the family plot in Prairie County Cemetery.
George Neiffer was born October 10, 1900, in Parkston SD, and moved to Crow Rock south of Terry in 1916 with his parents, where they homesteaded. He married Martha Naasz on December 16, 1928, in Crow Rock. They continued to farm until 1940, when they moved to Terry. In 1942 he started work for the Northern Pacific Railroad, where he worked until his retirement in 1965. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Clifford H of Glendive and three daughters, Mrs Violet Kuehn of Terry, Mrs Lorraine Barrett of Billings and Mrs Cecile Certain of Miles City. Also surviving are tow brothers, Emil and Adolph, both of Fairfield; three sisters, Emmile Wahl of Aberdeen SD, Johanna Wahl of Leola SD, and Agnes Ealiet of Eureka SD, and 14 grandchildren.
