Everett Raymond Matthews, 83, of Fordsville died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at his son's home. He was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Ohio County and was a retired oil field worker and farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Elizabeth Matthews; a son, Larry Joe Matthews; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Matthews; and a brother, William F. Matthews. Survivors include two sons, Everett Matthews Jr. and wife, Sandra, of St. Peters, MO, and David G. Matthews and wife, Tami, of Fordsville; a daughter, Mary Juanita Ferry and husband, Roger, of Fordsville; three sisters, Allene Pulliam of Fordsville, Jesse Milokvic of Chicago and Elizabeth "Betsy" Cole of Hartford; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pattiville, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
