Mrs. George Steinhoff was born in 1855, Aug. 15th and passed away Feb. 14, 1934. She was born in Monroe county, Ohio.
She was married to George Steinhoff. To this union 2 sons and 3 daughters were born. One son died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Kilzer passed away in 1925. The living children are Will, Mrs. Lloyd Beebe and Freda.
In 1884 she moved with her family to a farm in Iowa near German City other families arriving from time to time and soon the St. John’s Evangelical was founded. Today one of its first members will rest here for the great Easter morn resurrection. She was a faithful wife to her husband for 54 years and a loving mother to her children. She has been ill for some time and last Sunday contracted pneumonia.
Besides her lonesome husband, children and grandchildren, she leaves to mourn her departure, 6 brothers and 3 sisters, Mr. Geo. Eberly of St. Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buche of Tracy, Mo., Mrs. Mary Fleahman and Henry Eberly of Lake Benton, Minn., Mrs. August Niemeyer of High Hill, Mo., five brothers and one sister having preceded her in death.
May she rest in peace.
A mixed quartette composed of Mrs. C.C. Cheely, Mrs. J.J. Peters, Mr. Lester Harrison and Mr. Everett Persinger, sang some very beautiful numbers with Mrs. A. J. Byerly accompanying.
