      Edna (Puegner) Zimpleman was born on Tuesday; December 25, 1917 in High Amana; Iowa County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Willie and Henrietta Ehrman Puegner. Edna attended school in High Amana and married Jack Zimpleman on Saturday; October 5, 1940 at the High Amana Church. Edna worked at the Amana Woolen Mill as a weaver for 26 years. She also worked as head cook at the Amana schools for 13 years. Edna was a waitress at many area restaurants, including the Colony Inn and the Ronneburg. She enjoyed meeting the many people she came in contact with, and was grateful for all the "nice bosses". She was a member of the Amana Church Society and the AWA. Edna moved about in her last years, residing in Maquoketa, Oklahoma City and most recently she made her home in Osage Beach, to be close to her son and family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edna was a kind and wonderful person and will be greatly missed by her family and countless friends. Edna (Puegner) Zimpleman, age 91, passed away on Tuesday; January 6, 2009 at the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach; Camden County, Missouri. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her son: Brian (Holly) Zimpleman of Osage Beach, Missouri. Her two granddaughters: Brinadene (Thomas) Kopiske of Osage Beach, Missouri and Zephanie (Gary) Thompson of Edmond; Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. Her five grandchildren: Brady, Sydney, Ashton, and Peyton Kopiske and Gavin Thompson. Her sister: Linda Puegner of High Amana, Iowa. Also her nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother: Otto (Dorothy) Puegner and a step brother: Fred. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday; January 9, 2009 at the Middle Amana Community Church. Funeral services will begin at: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday; January 10, 2009 also at the Middle Amana Community Church. Interment will be in the Amana Cemetery. A memorial fund in Edna's honor has been established. For condolences, please visit the funeral home's website.
