      Born: Wilmer, Dallas County, Texas, USA
      Claus Albert Kruse, 74, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Porter Hospital.
      He was born February 13, 1936 in Wilmer, TX the son of Claus Detlef & Erna (Brandes) Kruse, graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1954 then received a B. S. in Engineering from Valparaiso University in 1958. From 1959–1961 he served with the U.S. Army at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico where he was cited by his commanding officer for his exemplary engineering work, attention to detail and conscientious attitude. Claus then worked at McGill's Manufacturing Bearing Division (Emerson) in Valparaiso for over 36 years as an Engineer and Manager retiring in 1993. He was a member of Heritage Lutheran Church in Valparaiso.
      Survivors include his sisters: Betty (Bruce) Crittenden of Reminderville, OH, Arlene (Bob) Zimbelman of Georgetown, TX, nieces: Cathy (Steve) Miller of Loveland, OH, Marcia (Shawn) Spera of Solon, OH, Jill (Ken) Drensky of Massillon, OH, nephew Scott (Heather) Boling of Paw Paw, MI and 10 great nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his parents.
      A funeral service will be held Thursday 10:30 AM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd, Valparaiso, Rev. Joseph Ostafinski officiating with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4- 8 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Heritage Lutheran Church.
