Golda A Weigel was born Jan 1, 1910 in Red Cloud, Nebraska to Louie and Nellie (Schnitker) Weigel. She passed away June 8, 2007 at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis at the age of 97 years.
Goldie as she was known, was united in marriage with Ralph "Roundy" Taylor in Red Cloud before moving to Phillipsburg. They lived in Phillipsburg until 1936 when they moved to Minneapolis. She worked as a sales clerk at Williamson Furniture and the Smart Shop. Goldie loved her iris garden and loved to share her flowers with others. She was a member of First Presbyterian church, Presbyterian Women and VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son, George Taylor and wife Shirley of Minneapolis; a sister Maxine Theriot of Lake Charles, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Kimberly Gens, Mitchell Taylor and Shawn Taylor; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 13, 1973.
The funeral was June 11 at Shields Funeral Home in Minneapolis with Rev Todd Burrow officiating. Musicians were Melba Bruce and Suzie Foerschler. Casket bearers were Shawn Taylor, Mitch Taylor, Tim Dolloff, Cleo Simoneau, Rob Ward and Trace Kreigh. Interment was in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Memorial are to the first Presbyterian Church.
