  G-Bachmann-wwwrootsweb.ancestry: An article in the San Jose Mercury Herald on January 1, 1915, indicates that William Henry Haun had relocated with his family from Gilroy, CA, to Hope City, Alaska, His brother, Edgar, and family were also in Hope City and they had had a good seasons in mining. Both William and Edgar had taken up homesteads near Hope City and they expected to make their home there in the future. Their father, John, indicated he and his family would make their home there as well if they could dispose of their property in Gilroy.
