Information from the Wishek, ND Jubilee Book ( 1950 ) pg 194 Edward and Katharina Golz started farming near his father's farm and in 1942 they purchased a farm in the same area.

Funeral service for Katherine "Katie" Golz, 91, of Ashley will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church Ashley. The Rev. Jeff Giles will officiate. She died Jan. 10, 2008 at the Ashley Nursing Home.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Ashley.
Katherine Sayler, daughter of John and Magdalina (Bier) Sayler, was born Feb. 16, 1916 on the family homestead, near Wishek. She grew up on the farm southwest of Wishek while attending country school. She was the second youngest of 14 siblings.
Katherine married Edward Golz on Oct. 28, 1934 in McIntosh County. They farmed small grains and livestock in the rural Venturia area until 1981, when they moved to Ashley.
Katie enjoyed baking for family and friends, canning and attending family gatherings. She was always ready to play pinochle and listen to accordion music. Her hobby for 15 years was as a drapery seamstress at her home.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and several groups within the church and the Ashley Senior Center.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Harvey (Betty) Golz of Troy, Mich., and Darwin (Betty) Golz of Ashley; four daughters, Betty (Richard) Ringuette of New Salem, Jean Bauer of Burnsville, Minn., Wanda (Steve) Delzer of Ashley and Ronda Golz of Fargo, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, five brother and eight sisters preceded Katherine in death.
