Clara Thurn, 86, died July 4, 2008, at the Wishek Home for the Aged. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek.
Clara Sayler, daughter of Edward and Christina (Weisser) Sayler, was born August 9, 1921, at Wishek. She grew up and attended rural school in the Wishek area. Clara was united in marriage to Fred W. Thurn Dec. 16, 1941, at St. James Lutheran Church in McIntosh County. They lived and farmed north of Lehr until 1979, when they moved into Wishek. In February of 2005, Clara moved into the Wishek Home for the Aged.
Clara was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek. She loved gardening and quilting.
Clara is survived by two sons, Marvin (Georgina) Thurn, Kaysville, Utah, and Ronnie (Carol) Thurn, Wishek; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Ludwig (Irene) Sayler, Reinhold (Mae) Sayler, Herman (Alvina) Sayler, Albert (Betty) Sayler, Victor (Dena) Sayler, Daniel (Marlys) Sayler and Jake (Irene) Sayler; and five sisters, Eva (Herb) Just, Landina (Wilbert) Meidinger, Arlena (Leo) Hauck, Edna (Ferdinand) Wiest and Christina (Dennis) Witt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W.; her parents, Edward and Christina; two brothers; and one sister. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek)
