Eldon was born on the family farm near St. Francis, Kansas. He attended school in Cheyenne County, Kansas.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1951 through 1953. On November 10, 1951, he and Dorothy Zimbelman were married at Waynesville, Missouri. When he returned from his military service, they made their home in Goodland. He had worked for the Department of Transportation in road maintenance, for the City of Goodland as power plant operator; and at Goodland Regional Medical Center in maintenance.
Preceding him in death his wife Dorothy Palmer; siblings Ila Taylor, Gladys Thomas, and Harold Palmer
Surviving family includes two daughters and their husbands; four grandchildren and two sisters
The funeral will be Thursday, August 25, at 2:00 PM MT, at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland, with Pastor Lyn Linde officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects on Thursday, from 10:00 AM MT until 2:00 PM MT, at the First United Methodist Church.
