Pauline Broeckel, 88, McClusky, died October 11, 2009, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church, McClusky. Burial will be in McClusky City Cemetery.
Pauline was born December 27, 1920, south of McClusky, to of Fred Helm and Margareta Pleinis. She grew up on the family farm south of McClusky along with five sisters and eight brothers. Pauline married May 14, 1939, at McClusky, North Dakota, to Lloyd Henry Broeckel. They lived and farmed in the McClusky and Denhoff area and moved to McClusky in 1966. She worked in the McClusky Grade School kitchen for several years.
Pauline was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and her hobbies included sewing, quilting and crocheting.
Pauline is survived by four daughters, Marion (Dennis) Moore, Sioux City,Iowa; Janice (Garmon) Winckler, Mandan; Paulette Wahl, Bismarck; and Bonnie (Vance) Briese, Gresham, Oregon; three sons, Harold (Sylvia), McClusky; Tom (Becky), New Hope, Minnesota; and Bob (Diane), Winfield, Alabama; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Helm, McClusky; and a sister, Edna Brackett, McClusky.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 06, 1994; her brothers, Edwin, Adolph, Christ, Fred, Julius, Walter and Arnold, and her sisters, Martha Roth, Anetta Murray and Emma Lauer.
