NAPOLEON — Services for Martha M. Flemmer, Napoleon, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Burial will be at Napoleon City Cemetery.
Martha Marie Wiest, daughter of Karl and Charolotte (Hoffman) Wiest, was born Sept. 6, 1926, at Cleveland, N.D. On Oct. 11, 1952, Martha married the love of her life, Samuel Flemmer. Since family was always most important to her, Martha and Sam lived with her parents and were their caregivers until they passed away. Martha then cooked for the Napoleon School District for 30 years. Martha loved to cook and bake and raised a large garden every year. You could always drop in at any time and she would have a meal ready to share. Later, Martha and Sam developed their love of playing cards with family and friends. They also enjoyed going fishing.
Martha entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2012, at the Napoleon Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past six years. She was 85 years old.
Martha is survived by two daughters, Marie (Marvin) Schnabel, Napoleon, and Donna (Kim) Faris, Green River, Wyo.; three grandchildren; one step-grandson; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Esther Flemmer, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Sam; her parents; six brothers, Albert, Ed, Emil, Roland, Reinhold and Johnny; five sisters, Elizabeth, Margaret, Lydia, Rose and Amelia; three sister-in-laws, Lenora, Ann and Mary; and one stepsister-in-law, Ruth.
