Mrs. Mischewski of Germany reported that George Heinrich Buxmann died in FUberau on Jan 13, 1760.
David Schmidt, reviewing LDS microfilm from FUberau/Reinheim (and also earlier Mrs. Mischweski of Ilbesheim, ermany) reported that an entry that occurs in the Family Register for George Heinrich Buxmann (b. 6 Jan. 1717) of FUberau says: "The widow married Kaspar Axthelm of Klein-Neuhausen (Erfurt) on March 15, 1763. In 1766, Axthelm, a sock weaver from FUberau with 4 stepchildren, took off for Russia in the night with his wife and children, leaving behind many debts, a house and goods. See protokolle pastorale, page 210."
Since neither Axthelm nor his wife, Elizabeth (?) Buxmann [her maiden name is unknown] appear in the records in Russia, according to Pleve, it may be assumed they died enroute. But two sons, Johann Georg (1745) and Johann Jakob (1754) arrived in Kolonie Mueller in 1767, according to Pleve. The oldest son was married.
Who the other two children were is not known; only Johann George (1745) and Johann Jakob (1754) are shown in the Russian data. The birth dates are from Ueberau/Reinheim church records.

Data from Igor Pleve of Saratov University, provided in 1993 in Saratov, shows Johann Georg Buxmann (born 1743 or 1744) as the first Buxmann to enter Russia from Germany after the invitation of the Czaress, Catharina the Great. He was said to be of the Evangelical (Lutheran) faith, and from the village of Reinheim (FUberau) near Darmstadt, and a tailor by trade. Pleve further reports that on August 16, 1767 Johann Georg Buxmann and his wife and brother (Johann Jakob, born in 1753) went [presumably from Saratov where they had been 'processed'] to the colony of MFuller.
Where the marriage between Johann Georg and Anna Maria took place is not known, whether in Germany, enroute to Russia, or in Russia. There is no record of the marriage in Ueberau/Reinheim church records.
Note, according to Ueberau/Reinheim church records, Johann George was abt 22 at entrance to Russia, and his brother (unmarried at the time) was abt 12.

Which of the two sons of Johann Georg named Johannes is the father of the two brothers, Georg Buxmann (age 30 in 1834, therefore born abt 1804), and Andreas Buxmann (age 28 in 1834, therefore born abt 1806), as well as of the three more brothers, George Martin, born ABT 1809, JOHANN ANDREAS, age 23.5 in 1834 and therefore born ABT 1811, and Johannes, born ABT 1813, (and whether the three latter are also brothers of the two former is not known for certain as of August 18, 1996. August 23, 1991 Uncle Albert referred to his parents getting a letter from her in 1932 in which she intimated that times would be very difficult for the German people in Russia. Grandpa and Grandma Buxman feared that she would be sent to Siberia in cattle cars and dumped off, "which probably happened," according to Uncle Albert. (This evening my mother (Aug. 23, 1991) added that she thought her name was Eve or Eva.) July, 1993, we met Eva Buxman's daughter, Paulina Linder of Zaretchna, Kazakhstan, who gave us information about her mother and father. Birth year by inference "she died in 1939 at age 66." Paulina said her mother had 14 children in all, many died; there were two sets of twins among those who died.
Year of birth and death confirmed in May 1995 by Sara Schaffner, grandaughter, daughter of Peter Maier.
April 11, 1994 letter from Paulina Lender tells that her mother had 2 sets of twins, and 15 children in all, 10 of whom died in early childhood (or in infancy), with 5 surviving to adulthood--Heinrich, Peter, Sara, Katrinlizbet, and Paulina. [Note; here she makes no reference to a 'Samuel.'] She said she was the youngest.
William Buxman of Parlier, CA (brother to my mother) said he remembered his father (Carl Adolf Buxman) saying that when he (Carl) was coming to America his sister,Eva, had planned to come also, but in St. Petersburg 'she got cold feet,' and returned to Wiesenmueller.

In August, 1994 a letter from Margaret Decker, recently arrived in Dueren, Germany, reported that Paulina had died in May. A phone call to her grandaughter, Valya Schabert in Germany (spoke to Valya's husband, Waldemar) confirmed it; she died while working in her garden harvesting onions in Zaretchna, Kazakhstan--just across the Tobol River from Kustanai where she found us in 1993. Victor Nedens, 75, retired Hardin area farmer, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 29, 2002, in the Big Horn County Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 2nd, 1927, in Lodge Grass, a son of Fred and Elizabeth Young Nedens. He grew up and received his education in Crow Agency, St. Xavier and Hardin. Following his education, he began farming with his parents.
Vic married Lorraine Becker Christman on March 19, 1954, in Hardin, and the couple made their home on their farm south of Hardin, until moving to Hardin in 1959. He worked numerous campaigns of the Holly Sugar Factory, as well as working for Abell's Plumbing, Miles and Ulmer Co., Culligan Water and Burlington Northern. In 1975, the couple moved to Forsyth and farmed until returning to Hardin in 1980, when he farmed with his brother near Hardin, retiring in 1994. Farming and the outdoors were the important aspects of Victor's life.
He was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Hardin.
A stepson, Greg Christman; grandson; three sisters and two brothers preceded Vic in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine of Hardin; two daughters, Linda (Chip) Towles of Colorado and Cheryl (Bill) Watson of Lodge Grass; two sons, Larry (Vicki) Nedens of Colorado and Kenneth (Theresa) Nedens of Nevada; one stepson, Dennis Christman of Hardin; his sister, Lydia Stricker of Hardin; three brothers, Henry of Wyoming, Harry of Livingston and Bill of Billings; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

My own family research (William Marvin Wiest) indicates thatour Wiest forebears left for Russia in about 1830 from somewhere in southern Germany perhaps nearGermerscheim in Rheinland-Pfalz, or from Wuerttemberg They were among thoseresponding to an earlier invitation by Catherine the Great, Czarina of Russia,for Germans and other western Europeans to settle in Russia. My grandfather,Friedrich Karl Wiest cam e to the United States (Colorado) in 1908 from one of severalhundred German settlements in Russia and Ukraine. The village he left fromwas Friedrichsfeld, near Stavropol in the North Caucasus of Russia, though he had beenborn in the German village of Rohrbach near Odessa, Ukraine. One sister,Elizabeth Wiest Croissant a lso emigrated to North America; she and her family settled in anarea near Medicine Hat, Albeita.
