    Wayne Michael Schultz was born on December 18, 1948 in Spokane, Washington to parents, Melvin and Frances Smith Schultz. He went home to be with the Lord Jesus on September 18, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Wayne passed in his home surrounded by family, friends, and the watchful eye of his dog Rosie. He was raised and attended schools in Spokane, Washington. Wayne then attended Spokane Falls Community College and Spokane Community College. He proudly served his Country during his 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a highly decorated soldier that was honorably discharged in September of 1971. Wayne farmed for 30 years in Washington State. He married Katie Lou Carroll on January 22, 1988 in Coure D' Alene, Idaho. Wayne semi-retired to Umatilla, Oregon in 2003 where he transported RV's to dealers in the United States and Canada. He most recently worked as a construction supervisor for a large local farm concern. Wayne loved fishing and enjoyed gardening, nature watching, oil painting, and music. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, USBC President Lincoln County Assoc, and the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene.
    He is survived by his loving wife: Katie Schultz, Umatilla, OR; sons: Paul Spencer & wife Ericka, Spokane, WA and Steven Spencer, Boise, ID; daughters: Jill Bossio & husband Michael, Spokane, WA and Pascia Smith, Orting, WA; 2 sisters: Priscilla Derr, Harrington, WA and Kathleen Dechand, Spokane, WA; and 8 grandchildren.
    Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
    A celebration of life service with military honors will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of the Nazarene, Hermiston, Oregon.
