A handmade pedigree chart of unknown origin suggests that Jacob had first been married to someone with the maiden name "Hienly." No record of such a marriage can be found. However, the 1910 US census would seem to show that he had been married before (see below).
    BIRTH RECORDS OF CHILDREN
No birth records could be found in the Lutheran church records from Russia, probably because the family was Baptist. The dates used here are all take from the Weisenburger family bible.
    BAPTIST RELIGION
At some point in time, the Schweigert family joined the Baptist Church. The Baptist movement in Germany began in 1834. Baptist missionaries were active in the Black Sea Region in the 1860s and 1870s. It is suggested that part of the reason for the church's popularity was that many of the established churches did not have a regular pastor. Instead, a pastor would serve many churches and could not always be present in a village when needed. People started meeting in small groups for prayer. These meetings were called "Stunden" (hours) and led to the name of the Stundist movement. Many of these Stunden members looked to the Baptist teachings to guide them. The first regular Baptist congregations were founded in Alt- and Neu-Danzig and by 1879 the Baptists received legal recognition as a protestant branch in Russia. There were 20,000 Baptists in the German Russian colonies by 1897. It is not known if Jacob Schweigert's mother and step-father had joined the Baptist Church or if he joined on his own. It is certain that he was a Baptist at the time of his marriage to Katharina Harr in about 1880.
    IMMIGRATION
The family of Jakob Scweigert immigrated to the US on the SS Chemnitz sailing from Bremen on 17 Nov 1906 and arriving in New York on 1 Dec 1906. The ship's manifest lists them as follows:
    Jacob--48 yrs. farm laborer
    Katharina--47 yrs.
    Friederika--22 yrs. maidservant
    Christian--19 yrs. farm laborer
    Johann--16 yrs.
    Eva--14 yrs.
    Anna--12 1/2 yrs.
Their final destination was listed as Eureka, SD, where they were going to join Katharina's brother, Johann Harr.
[Their son Jacob had arrived in the US in 1905.]
    NATURALIZATION
Jakob Schweigert filed his Declaration of Intention on 19 Dec 1906 in McPherson County, SD. In it he is described as being six feet tall, 185 pounds, of dark complexion, with black hair, blue eyes, and a prominent nose. It states that he was born on 28 Feb 1858 in Worms, Russia, and that he arrived in New York on 1 Dec 1906. He received his Certificate of Naturalization on 6 Nov 1912 in Ashley, ND. Children listed on it were: Ricke 12, Jakob 27, Christ 25, John 23, Eva 21, and Ana 13 [the ages of Ricke and Ana must be incorrect]. They resided in Hellwig, ND.
    HOMESTEAD
In November of 1907 Jakob filed papers to homestead 80 acres of land in North Dakota at S. 1/2 of SW 1/4 of Section 24 in Township 131 of Range 68 [Hellwig, ND]. Witnesses for his 'Intention to make Proof' were John Mudinger, Heinrich Gohring, Andreas Joerky, and Bernhard Hellwig, Sr. In Jakob's 1913 testimony for 'Final Proof' he states: "I had when i went on claim in 1907 10 horses and 8 cows. In 1908 I had 12 horses and 16 hed of Cattel. In 1909 i had 14 horses and 18 Hed of Cattel. In 1910 i had 16 horses and 16 Hed of Cattel. In 1911 i had 18 horses and 20 hed of Cattel and in 1912 I had 20 horses and 20 hed of Cattel, said stock was Pastured on said claim each year." Also on the 80 acres of fenced property were an 18x28 Frame House, a 24x36 Frame Barn, a 14x16 Frame Shed, an 8x8 Frame Smoke House, and a 24 foot deep well--all valued at $1500. The 'Final Proof ' was suspended because there was 'Insufficient Cultivation' on the property. Affidavits were included stating that "this land could not be broken that it was fit only for Pasture as the same is a bed of an alcohly lake, and that it is under water in the spring and untill the middel of the summer, and that it would be impossible for any portion of this land to be broken or cultivated." Another affidavit stated, "said land is in a lake Bottom and that the same is covered with water from the time the snow goes in the spring until the Month of July, and that the earliest that he has seen water leav the said land so that it could be plowed was the first of July and that in this Country where the summers are short the time left after the water leaves the said land would be entirly to short for to plant and give grain time to mature before frost." Jakob received the Certificate for full payment on the land on 10 Jun 1913.
    CENSUS
The 1910 US Census for Twp. 131, R 68 (Hellwig), McIntosh Co., ND, (ED #47, sheet 13A, 9 May 1910) lists the following: - Jacob--52 yrs., married for 30 years, Farming - Katharina--52 yrs. - Christian--22 yrs., farming
    John--20 yrs., farming - Eva--18 yrs. - Anna--16 yrs.
It indicates that Katherine gave birth to 7 children and that 6 were then living. For their marital status, it indicates "M2" for Jacob and "M1" for Katharina, suggesting that this was a second marriage for Jacob.
The 1920 US Census for Bismarck, Burleigh, ND (ED #62, sheet 11A, 12 Jan 1920) lists the following at 611-10th Street:
    Jacob Schweigert--62 yrs.
    Katherine--62 years
    John--30 years
It indicates that Jacob owned his home, free (not mortgaged), that they had all immigrated in 1906, and that Jacob and John were laborers (farm).
The 1930 US Census for Bismarck (ED#8-4, Sheet 18B) taken on 17 Apr 1930 shows Jacob and Katie as 72 years old. They were 22 at the time of their marriage. Jacob was a laborer who owned his own home, valued at $3000.
    BISMARCK CITY DIRECTORIES
Jakob and Katharina are listed in the directories for 1914-15, 1916-17, 1919-20, 1928-29 and 1932-33. In the first one their address was 1012 Rosser; thereafter it was 611-10th. After Jacob's death, Katharina was listed in the directories for 1938-39, 1940-41, and 1945 at the same address.
    PROPERTY DEEDS (611 - 10th in Bismarck)
Jakob purchased Lot 9 of Block 46 of the Northern Pacific Second Addition on 27 Sep 1915 from Eliza M. Suttle, a widow of Bismarck, for the sum of $350 (Book 121, page 396). On 7 Aug 1936 Catharina Schweigert, widow of Jacob Schweigert, Sr., was granted Old Age Assistance and Burleigh County became a lienholder of the property. On 3 May 1945 [Note: this is the date upon which Katharina became ill and entered the Baptist Old Peoples' Home] a deed noted that the property had been acquired by the county through tax deed proceedings for nonpayment of taxes for years 1932-1942, with interest and penalties totalling $1500. The property had been offered for sale at an annual tax sale but as there was no bid the property stayed with the county. Thus on 3 May 1945 it was sold to J. J. Schweigert (Katharina's son) of McLaughlin for $1500 (Book 255, p. 146). That same day J. J. Schweigert sold the property to Karl Gieser of Bismarck for $1 and "other valuable considerations" (Book 254, p. 325). [Note that Karl Gieser was the superintendent of the Baptist Old Peoples' Home.]
    CAUSE OF DEATH
Chronic myocarditis due to coronary disease, with hypertrophy of prostate with obstruction. The death certificate says that he had cystotomy surgery on 23 Jul 1934 and prostatectomy surgery on 13 Aug 1934 (the date of his death). He died at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck.
    OBITUARY
The following obituary was printed in German in Der Staats-Anzeiger on 17 August 1934:
"Mr. Jakob Schweigert, who was a resident of Bismarck for 23 years and was generally known and respected in the German districts, died in the hospital due to old age on Monday, 13 August, just before 11 pm. The deceased was born on 28 February 1858 in Rohrbach, South Russia, and was age 78 years, 5 months, 18 days at the time of his death. He came with his family to America about 30 years ago, to South Dakota to be precise, where he lived for two years, then to the Ashley region in North Dakota, where he farmed for five years, and then he came here to settle in Bismarck. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and two sons, 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The daughters are: Mrs. Philipp Weissenburger of Bismarck and Mrs. John Bentz of Ronan, Montana. One son, J.J. Schweigert, lives in McLaughlin, South Dakota, and the other, John Schweigert, in Butte, Montana. We extend our heartfelt condolences. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at the English Baptist church, led by minister J.J. Lippert."
    PROBATE
Jakob Schweigert died intestate and his estate went through probate between December 1935 and August 1937. His widow Katharina was appointed administrator and notice was sent of such appointment to her children J.J. Schweigert, Anna Bentz, Johan Schweigert, Fredericka Weisenburger, and to her grandchildren Ida Grenz and Henry Gohring. Jakob's estate consisted of his home in Bismarck and "judgment against Edward Blumhardt of Ashley N.D. That the total value of all said real estate is the sum of $750; that the total of all said estate in the sum of $1000; that the total annual rents, profits and income of all said real estate is of the probable value of $125; that the value of all said personal property is the sum of $300."

MEMORIES OF GRANDMA (by Karen Abel)
With our family in California and Grandma living in Great Falls, MT, we didn't often see her. Grandma did not write in English, but she sent frequent letters that a friend wrote for her. Grandma signed them with lots of Xs and Os and always taped a coin to the letter for each of us children. They were often dimes and quarters, but it was a real treat when we received silver dollars.
Grandma did travel a fair bit to visit various relatives, always travelling by bus. She was a very strict German Baptist and often let her views be known. Many things were considered a sin: watching television, playing cards, going to dances (even ones held at the Episcopal Church that we attended). While visiting us, however, she was known to be seen sneaking a peak around the doorway at the television. Having heard once too often that "Jesus didn't watch TV", my mother once replied to Grandma, "Mama, Jesus didn't ride the bus either!" Visits to our house always caused a flurry of activity and flour in the kitchen as Grandma baked her wonderful German kuchen.

    OBITUARY
The McLaughlin community was stunned Sunday morning by the sudden passing of a 31-year resident and businessman, Jacob J.Schweigert. Mr. Schweigert had just finished the adult Sunday school class in his church when he suffered a fatal heart attack. He was 78. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the First Baptist Church at McLaughlin at 2 P.M. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Alfred Weisshar, superintendent of the Baptist Home for the Aged at Bismarck. Jacob J. Schweigert was born September 15, 1885 in Odessa,Russia. He was the son of Jacob and Katharina Schweigert. As a youth he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and was baptized in the Baptist faith before leaving the Old Country. "Jake", as he was better known, came to the United States in 1905. He first resided at Eureka where he was employed in a general store and in a blacksmith shop. A few years later he went to Ashley, ND where he met and married Emma Mayor (sic) on March 3, 1908. In 1912 the young couple moved to Bismarck, ND to make their home. There their eight children were born. Mr. Schweigert became an American citizen in 1913. He worked as a foreman in a garage in Bismarck for 18 years. In 1930 the family moved to Plevna, Mont. where he operated a repair shop until 1933 when he moved with his family to McLaughlin. Here he worked as a mechanic until 1937 when he became associated with Ford and also with John Deere farm machinery. He disposed of this business in 1955. In April 1949, he signed a contract with Chevrolet and in 1955 he acquired the Oldsmobile franchise at McLaughlin. He was joined by his son Ted in 1942 and the two have operated the Schweigert Chevrolet Company as a partnership since that time. His first wife, Emma, passed away in 1948 and in 1949 he married Emilia Quenzer (nee Dietterle). He is survived by his wife, Emelia, two daughters, (Anna) Mrs. Andrew Bertsch, McLaughlin; (Verna) Mrs. Christ Aldinger, Billings, Mont., and three sons, Henry of Cedarville, Ill., Reuben of Fairfield, Calif. and Theodore W. of McLaughlin; two sisters, Freida Weisenburger of Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. John (Anna) Bentz of Lodi, Calif. He served his Church and Lord in various capacities such as Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, secretary, treasurer and deacon. He loved to sing and for many years sang in a male quartet in the church. He also served as trustee for the Bismarck Baptist Home for the Aged and at the time of his passing was serving on the Board of Directors of this Home. He had recently been re-elected to serve as Deacon of the Baptist Church in McLaughlin. Through his demise his church and the McLaughlin community has lost a citizen, advisor and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jake always said, "You are only as old as you feel." At the time of his passing, he was 78 years, 8 months and 7 days young.

    LETTER TO HER BROTHER
Just a month before her death, Anne wrote a letter to her brother, John, sent from San Haven, ND, to John at the Wicks Hotel in Mott, ND. She wrote in November 1933:
"Saturday 4 p.m. - Dear Johnny: I seem to have a spark of energy so I'm going to fan it by writing to you. My, how proud I was to have your lovely letter & snapshot. The girls think you're quite a handsome brother. So do I! .. Johnny, I've a favor I'd like to ask of you. Remember the card I sent to you? Well I wonder if you could print 'A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year' on seven of those for me. I got the nurses some hankies, and a card like that put in the envelope with the hanky would save some wrapping and since I can't get about, it would make it easy for me. The nurses always rave about that printing so I know they'd like it. Could you do it? Or is it too much? Could you get some cards like that or should I send you some. They are 15cents a box at the dime store. So you listen to the minstrels? Well so do I. That's one thing we do together. Too bad we can't listen to the same radio instead of the same program. Gee, I get so blue and downhearted sometimes but what's a body to do? Just grit your teeth and bear it I guess. Maybe someday I'll have a chance to live a natural life. I had an X-ray this week. Dr. J. said today that there isn't much improvement but it isn't any worse. I'll just have to do better or I'll lay here forever. I wish I could gain but it doesn't seem possible. I try everything and can't gain..
"Sunday a.m. - The supper trays came before I could finish so I'll finish now. After supper I read my Tribune & a cute letter I got from Buddy. According to him this will be quite a day at home, for, Uncle Adam's family and you are to be home. .. Do you listen to Baron Munchhausen? I think he's good. .. Auf wiedersehen. Love & Kisses. Your sis, Anne."
[Note: "Buddy" was younger brother George. "Uncle Adam" must have been Adam Gohring, husband of the deceased Eva Schweigert.]
According to "Webb Brothers Funeral Homes Records" Annie died at Dunseith Sanitarium. This was a tuberculosis sanitarium located near Dunseith, ND, a town very near the Canadian border. No death certificate was found for her in ND.

John left Bismarck in 1938 to move to Lodi, CA. While there he picked grapes and then worked in a men's clothing store. He then moved to San Jose and worked first for Ernie Gregory (who remained a lifelong friend) in a shoe store in Palo Alto. John moved to Palo Alto for a time and then returned to San Jose. While working at Gallenkamps in San Jose, he met Carol.
John was drafted into the Army on 2 February 1943. He was in Field Artillery--he didn't do the firing but computed in his head the direction the guns should be fired. He and Carol lived in Winona, MS, until he was transferred to Atlanta, GA, in the fall of 1944. Their oldest son, Gary, was born there. While there he worked in the Finance Office figuring payrolls. He received his Honorable Discharge on 14 February 1946 at the rank of Technical Sergeant. His mustering out pay was $200 and he received travel pay of $135.55.
John, Carol and Gary returned to San Jose. They lived with Carol's parents for one year while their house at 1251 Malone Road was being built. They wore out a set of wheels on Gary's stroller in walking back and forth to watch as the house was built.
After the war, John worked for J.C. Penney Co., managing the men's furnishing department. He then worked for Herold's Shoe Store as a salesman and buyer of shoes for women and children. Then he moved on to manage and buy shoes for The Wardrobe men's store at 2nd & Santa Clara streets in San Jose. In the early 1970's he began working for San Jose Leather Goods as a salesman. He traveled from Antioch to Monterey. He retired in 1976 and he and Carol moved to Pioneer, CA, where they had a home built. For a while he sold advertising for the Amador Dispatch.

Mr. Weisenburger was born in Bismarck, N.D., and attended schools there before serving as an Army finance officer in Mississippi during World War II. He moved to San Jose in 1946 and lived here until 1976, when he retired and moved to Pioneer.
Mr. Weisenburger loved fishing and 'wet his line in just about every trout stream and lake from Northern California to Montana,' said his son, Gary Weisenburger of Connecticut. Mr. Weisenburger moved to Pioneer in order to be near Silver Lake, one of his favorite fishing spots, his son said.
Mr. Weisenburger was a shoe buyer for Herold's Shoe Store for 10 years, manager of the shoe department for 12 years at the Wardrobe, formerly at Second and Santa Clara streets, and a salesman at San Jose Leather Goods for eight years.
'If you bought a pair of shoes in San Jose during the 1950s and 1960s, you might very well have bought them from my father, who often remembered not only people's names but their shoe size and the style they liked,' said Mr. Weisenburger's daughter, Karen Abel of San Jose.
Mr. Weisenburger was a former commander of American Legion Post No. 318 in the Willow Glen district and was a member of San Jose Golden Rule Masonic Lodge.
His is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Weisenburger of Pioneer; his son and daughter and another son, Steven Weisenburger of Lexington, Ky.; and four grandchildren.
Disposition of Mr. Weisenburger's cremated remains was private."

10 Feb 1933, p. 4: "In Miss Lambertus' grammar class, Harry Weisenberger was called on to go to the board to demonstrate the use of the pronoun. He wrote - 'I won't cost much.' Half way to his seat Harry turned around amid the merriment of his fellow classmates and realizing his mistake returned quickly to the board and put a 't' after the 'I'."
29 Sep 1933, p. 4: "Harry Weisenburger broke his leg in an automobile accident July 13. He was in the Bismarck hospital for a month but is attending school now."
    FAMILY HISTORY
In 2000, Wilma Weisenburger shared a work in progress entitled "Gramps Remembers (or Harry told me)" which is a history of the Harry Weisenburger family. Following are excerpts from the third chapter, "Growing up in Bismarck, North Dakota 1915-1938":
"Harry's father, Philip Weisenburger, built a seven-room house in Bismarck, ND, for his family. He built another house adjacent to it which provided rental income. As his family grew, his father built a larger house over the original home. The family continued to live in the seven rooms while construction was going on. The enlarged home had 41 windows. Much of the work was done at night so that Harry and his siblings could hold a light, giving Philip better visibility. Philip was a good carpenter, an electrician, a plumber and was able to read blue prints. Harry says he could build a house from 'the ground up.'
"His mother, Frieda, was energetic and enterprising as well. Besides having given birth to 12 children, she worked as a cleaning woman in office buildings and homes in Bismarck, taking some of her children with her to help. Harry remembers that he helped clean the Christian Science Reading Room and a doctor's office. His mother also brought laundry home to do for other folk. He recalls that his brother, Johnny, became quite good at ironing. During the times when money was scarce, some of the wealthier families gave his mother good used clothing for use for her growing family. Harry doesn't remember a time when his family was 'deprived.'
"His father and mother were German Baptists..He says there is no group as Baptist as German Baptists..His grandfather, Jacob Schweigert, lived with his wife, Katharina Harr Schweigert, in Bismarck also. If he happened to drop by the Weisenburger home and saw a deck of cards around, he would throw the cards in the fire. To him, playing cards was a sin. His wife and the Harr family were Lutherans. Katharina Harr played the accordion and played for dances in Russia. Dancing was thought to be a sin by German Baptists so that when she married Jacob Schweigert she gave up playing the accordion and also joined the German Baptist Church. [NOTE: the blosbalgle was a small accordion that was a popular instrument at dances; it cost about 30 rubles.]
"The church services attended by Harry's family were in German. The children went to school on Saturday to learn German so that they could participate in the church service. Prejudice ran so high during World War I that German classes for children were stopped..Harry's grandfather, Jacob, sold advertising for a German newspaper published in Bismarck. When he was in the hospital dying of prostate cance, Harry sat by his bedside at times.
"He remembers that his parents sent packages of clothes and food to some of his father's relatives in Siberia. When his father no longer heard from Siberia, the relatives were presumed dead, so they stopped sending 'care' packages..
"He says the location of Bismarck on the Northern Pacific Railroad brought many events that would not have been available to residents otherwise--Bismarck was a 'stopover.' The largest circus of its day, 'The One O One Ranch', came to Bismarck when Harry was about nine years old. He got a job helping to set up tents, etc., for a free pass to the circus. When he returned in the evening with his pass to see the show, he was told that someone else had already been admitted with his pass. Fortunately, the man with whom he had worked identified him and he was allowed in. He discovered later that his brother, Henry, had duplicated his pass and used it earlier.
"If Harry loitered on the way home from school to play and realized he would be questioned conceerning his whereabouts, he would stop by his grandmother Schweigert's, who always gave him a warm welcome and kept lemon drops on hand just for him. (He still likes lemon drops.) He sometimes helped her mop the kitchen or he might make an 'English Cake' for her using Swansdown flour. At any rate, when he reached home and was questioned about the lateness of his arrival, when he said he had been 'at Grandma's' it was all right..
"While in high school, Harry had a job shoveling snow on the sidewalks around the high school under one of President Roosevelt's Youth Corps programs. During the summer, he worked for a dairy in Bismarck delivering milk. It was his second summer working for Yegen's Dairy that the milk truck in which he was riding was involved in an accident with another vehicle. It overturned and Harry was thrown from the passenger side. The truck and its contents fell on top of him. Fortunately, most of the milk had been delivered and the milk crates were of heavy wire sectioned off. His life was saved by a milk crate propping up the load. He was dragged from the wreckage, having sustained a dislocated left hip and a broken right leg below the knee. Again, fortunately, North Dakota was one of the first states to have Worker's Compensation so his hospital and medical bills were paid in full. His father, Philip Weisenburger, was hospitalized at the same time as Harry from injuries sustained in an automobile accident caused by a drunken driver.
"..after graduation from Bismarck High School, Harry enrolled at North Dakota State College at Fargo. He chose Animal Husbandry as his major. His brother, Henry, had instructed him in some of the finer points of cribbage and poker. College was a good place to put into practice his skills. At any rate, he dropped out of college before the end of the first term.
"His family home in Bismarck was near the hospital. Cousins and friends who were nurses, or in training, were often in and out of the Weisenburger house. Among this group was a beautiful girl from Golden Valley, ND, by the name of Erna Weigum."

George is found in the 1938-39 and 1940-41 directories as carrier for the Bismarck Tribune, living at his parents' home.
    MILITARY
George lied about his age in order to enlist in the US Navy before the age of 18. On December 7, 1941, he was aboard the USS Nevada, docked next to the USS Arizona, in Pearl Harbor. At just 18 years old he saw many of his shipmates die. From there he was assigned to the USS Indianapolis which sailed to the Aleutian Islands. While there, the intense pressure and long hours of duty caused him to suffer a nervous breakdown.
According to Pearl Harbor Muster Rolls, George O. Weisenburger enlisted in the Navy on 4 Dec 1940 in Minneapolis, MN. A "Report of Changes" shows that the USS Nevada sailed from Long Beach, CA, to Pearl Harbor on 11 Sep 1941. On 1 Sep 1941 George was promoted from Seaman 2nd Class to Seaman 1st Class. A "Report of Changes" dated 31 Dec 1941 shows what became of all the crew of the USS Nevada. Most were assigned to other ships, some were in the Naval Hospital at Pearl Harbor, and others died in the attack. On 13 Dec 1941 George had been transferred to the USS Indianopolis.
    GREAT FALLS CITY DIRECTORY
George is found twice in the city directories for Great Falls, MT: in 1944 at 2801 Second Avenue South and in 1949 with his mother.

    OBITUARY
Chris H. "Gramps" Bentz, 83, recently of Sage Tower, passed away at St. Vincent Healthcare on Saturday morning, Dec. 28, 2002. During this time of year, many will remember him as the "Real Santa" at the Hart Albin Building and West Park Plaza. He entertained children coming to see him with many stories about the other Santas being his elves and helpers, Mrs. Santa preparing the completion of the gifts and singing Happy Birthday to Jesus - the real meaning of Christmas. Chris was born Oct. 19. 1919, in MacIntosh (sic) County, ND, a son of John and Anna Bentz. He attended high school in Ronan and served in the US Navy from 1942-1946, Chris married Dorothy Mothka. He worked for the Mountain Tractor Co. in Missoula, selling farm machinery to area ranchers who also became his personal friends. He and Dottie moved to Billings in 1976 to be closer to the three grandchildren they loved so dearly. He worked for Plains Power and Equipment and Nash Brothers before retiring. His years of retirement brought many good years of volunteering as a HOST tutor in the school district. Chris loved reading with children and encouraging them to do their best. Chris was a past member and president of the Missoula Optimist Club and had truly lived a life of optimism. He was involved in Troop 10 of the Boy Scouts as an assistant scoutmaster, teaching the boys the importance of citizenship and established a fund raiser of selling wreaths that still exists today. Chris is survived by his daughter, Sandy Mehus and her husband Jerry of Billings; his three grandchildren, Chris and his wife Tami, Brenda Jo, and Brian and his wife Karyn; and his brother Bene Bentz and his wife Joan.
