Eleanor was a daughter of George and Alice Stramka Gunther. She married Horatio "Red" Bartleson. He died in 1984 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Also preceding Eleanor in death was one brother, Harold Gunther, and two sisters, Florence Brem and Evelyn Seavers.
Surviving are her children, Bill Bartleson, Joanna (Jim) Bell and Debra (Glen) Ferguson; four grandchildren, Ann Ferguson, Jim (Lisa) Dobbler, Joe (Shelli) Ferguson and Dave (Ashley) Ferguson; and two great-grandchildren, Gennesee Dobbler and Piper Ferguson.
Before marrying Red, Eleanor was employed as a hairdresser. She later worked for Proctor Hospital and retired as a nurses aide.
