    BARBARA BOWERSOX FROHARDT, 85, formerly of Royal Oak, died November 29, 2006 in Dearborn after a brief illness. She was born September 27, 1921 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Fred and Margaret Bowersox. Mrs. Frohardt held degrees in chemistry: BA, Grinnell College, 1943; MS, Columbia University, 1945. Prior to the birth of her children she worked for Texaco Development and for Chrysler Engineering.
    She taught chemistry at Oakland Community College from 1965 until her retirement in 1990. She was past president of the Michigan College Chemistry Teachers Association and the Oakland branch of the AAUW. She also served two years as president of the Whittier PTA in Royal Oak.
    She is survived by her husband, Roger P., whom she married June 23, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa; sons, Daniel (Katharine) Frohardt-Lane of Royal Oak and Allen Frohardt of Sunnyvale, California; grandchildren, David and Sarah Frohardt-Lane; and siblings, David (Norma) Bowersox of Bellingham, Washington and Marjory Barry of Great Falls, Montana. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on December 27 in Henry Ford Village, 15101 Ford Road, Dearborn. Memorial contributions may be made to the AAUW Educational Foundation, 1111 Sixteenth St. NW, Washington, DC 20036

    David F. Bowersox passed away peacefully on 12/20/2012 surrounded by his family and close friends.
    He was born in Clinton, Iowa on August 14, 1931. He grew up in Clinton, graduated from Grinnell College, and then received his PhD from Caltech University in California.
    He married Norma Bowersox in Pasadena, CA, and they moved to Los Alamos, NM, and together raised four children. David worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Nuclear Chemist dedicating his career to researching ways of safely reprocessing plutonium. He was a respected scientist publishing many research papers, and was consulted by scientists from around the world.
    David will always be remembered as a faithful husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather. He could be counted on to bring a positive attitude, joyful spirit, and a good joke to share with everyone he met, caring more for others than himself.
    He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, square dancing, photography, singing in the church choir, and traveling around the world.
    He is survived by his four children: James Bowersox (Karen); Donald Bowersox (Melodie) and their children, Justin (Hannah), Troy, Anthony and Shayne; Michael Bowersox; and Mary Pitcher (Tim) and their children, Alyssa and Ryan. Also Connie Callin who was like a second daughter. He loved being a grandfather and spending time with his six grandchildren.
    He was committed to his many friends in Lynden, his faith, and the church.
    A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lynden United Methodist Church, 500 14th St., Lynden, WA.
    Memorials in honor of David are suggested to Lynden United Methodist Church or Lynden Senior Center.
