Clara Schmitz, 84, Jamestown, formerly of Beach, ND, died Saturday, July 8, 1995, at Jamestown Hospital. Clara Harr was born Aug. 5, 1910, at Woodworth, the daughter of jacob and Anna (Oswald) Harr. She grew up and attended school in the Woodworth area. She married Hugh Schmitz at Beach. She was a cook at the Golden Valley Hospital, Beach, and at the Golva, ND, Public Schools for a number of years. She and her husband also farmed near Beach. Mr. Schmitz died Oct. 14, 1979. She moved to Jamestown in 1990. She is survived by two sons, Steve and Brad, both Hillsboro, OR; three brothers, Donald, Jamestown, Norman, Yakima, WA, and Oliver, Mandan; two sisters, Leora Thompson, Kennewick, WA and Katherine Stroh, Sanborn, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her hsuband, a son, James, and two sisters, Della Ruddy and Nelda Harr
