Allen Faul, 85, McClusky died on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Sanford Health Sunset Drive Health Care Center, Mandan.
Allen Faul was born on January 29, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN. He was the son of Gustav and Helen (Hiebert) Faul. He grew up on the family farm south of Sawyer and attended rural school there. He graduated from Tabor High School in Hillsboro, KS in 1947. He returned to North Dakota and worked on the farm before going to work in the Wyoming and South Dakota oil patches. Allen married Grace Wahl on May 4, 1952 at the McClusky Mennonite Brethren Church. They spent their first years of marriage working in the oil fields and lived in a small trailer. They moved to a farm east of McClusky where they raised small grains, dairy and beef cattle. He also held a Class B Electrician’s license. Grace died on January 21, 2009. He continued to reside on the farm and had recently been living in the Sheridan Memorial Home in McClusky.
Allen was instrumental in organizing the McLean and Sheridan County Rural Water Board which he served on. He served on the McClusky Co-op Elevator Board and was a founding member of the Sheridan County Farm Bureau.
Allen was a member of the McClusky Baptist Church and was a member of the Midstate Gideon Camp and Steer, Inc.
Allen is survived by two sons: Timothy (Beth), Boa Vista, Brazil; Patrick (Sheila), McClusky, ND; two daughters: Pamela Alexander, Fresno, CA; TyAnn (Bruce) Sinnamon, Bismarck, ND; eleven grandchildren, Victoria and Christina Faul; Kimberly Dean; Chantal, Hannah, Chance and Jewel Faul; James, Dan, Bill and Robert Dean; five great-grandchildren, Emerald Dean and Devon Dean, Skye, River and Ember Dean; three brothers, George of Independence, OR, Donald of Fresno, CA, Curtis of Abbotsford, British Columbia; two sisters, Josephine Griswold of Haysville, KS; cousin, Marlene V. Faul of Newton, KS; numerous nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister Esther Siemens.
