Anna Lee Zimbelman, 74, of Keenesburg, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at her home. Anna Lee was born on September 29, 1940 in San Diego, California to J.W. and Pauline G. (Rhodes) Looney.
Anna Lee grew up in San Diego, during her childhood. Her family lived in several places, due to her father being in the military.
In 1962, she married Donald "Sonny" Zimbelman at the Keenesburg Baptist Church in Keenesburg, Colorado.
Anna Lee volunteered at Southeast Weld County Fair, announcing at the Livestock Show. She enjoyed hunting for Arrowheads, bowling, going on cruises, trips to Las Vegas and Blackhawk and watching NASCAR; her favorites were Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson.
Anna Lee was very outgoing. Her grandchildren enjoyed watching dry humor shows on TV with her. At Sunday dinners with her family, her specialties were roast potatoes, gravy and German desserts. Her favorite drink was Dr. Pepper.
Anna Lee is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (James) Denning; two sons, Tony Zimbelman and Jason (Valerie) Zimbelman; brother, Andy (Jane) Looney and five grandchildren, Jacob Denning, Austin Zimbelman, Brennan Zimbelman, Jordan Denning and Colton Zimbelman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Keenesburg American Legion.
